Greetings everyone, I stayed at the Comfort Inn Downtown Salt Lake City from April 30th to May 2nd in room 154, and unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences my family and I have ever had. When I first checked into the hotel, they placed me in a handicap-accessible room even though I specifically booked a standard king-size bed room. When I brought this to their attention, staff simply stated they were sold out and told me I would have to stay in that room. From the beginning, there were constant issues throughout the hotel. While waiting in line at the front desk, I observed multiple guests complaining that their room key cards were not working. So when my family and I later experienced the same issue and attempted to notify staff, they immediately gave us an attitude and made us feel as if we had done something wrong or failed to follow directions. The problems continued throughout our stay. The room had no cable service, no housekeeping, and the door locking mechanism was broken, creating a serious safety concern for my family. We notified staff multiple times, but nothing was ever fixed. What was most upsetting was the response from staff when I complained about feeling unsafe because of the broken lock. I was told, “Well, no one died, so it doesn’t matter.” That level of disrespect and disregard for guest safety is completely unacceptable. When I attempted to speak with management regarding these concerns, staff refused to provide any manager contact information, including a phone number or email. The only name I was given was either Samia or Samira, who appeared to be the on-site or assistant manager. To make matters worse, when I later called the hotel to discuss the situation and request assistance, a staff member told me there was nothing they could do, refused to discuss any meaningful refund, and hung up on me. After spending approximately $1,300 at this hotel, the only compensation they offered was a 10% discount on the final day, which came out to around $12. That response was insulting considering the conditions and treatment we experienced. In my opinion, this hotel is poorly maintained, poorly managed, and lacks basic professionalism, customer service, and concern for guest safety. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others not to stay at this hotel. It was a complete waste of money, and I will never stay there again.

My room was upgraded

When we checkin, our room door was unsecured! I had informed the gentlemen and only said maybe during room cleaning staff did not secure. I felt UNSAFE!! Our room was assigned exterior room and cleaning was very poor, bathroom ceiling looked like it was going to collapse! Next morning, I reported again and FD/Amanda was nice to move us into interior bldg. From then everything was great! My only issue after was, I left an important docs behind & called to see if hskpg staff had turned it in, response was NOTHING TURNED IN!! I am definitely sure my docs was placed on the table/desk. I sent a message and have not gotten any response!!!

Room badly in need of upgrade. Dirty bathtub. Horrible shower head. Very weak WiFi connection; almost unusable. Difficult to find from street because entrance is in back.
