Holiday Inn Express Blowing Rock South, an IHG Hotel

All the staff was helpful. Bed was the best. It was a little hard to get to.

During my arrival after a long drive we were hoping to check in a little early. I understand that you have times set, but with over 300 rooms and 3 cars in the parking lot , you can use that old saying " YOUR ROOM IS NOT READY YET" . So we left with leaving our phone number with the Desk clerk and him promising he would give us a call as it became avaliable . Well it is now 5:30 pm and still no call. That not any way from your desk clerk to do people. He should of least be talking to and let him know that he is not doing his job I could see it if he was busy, but I saw that all he wanted to do was play in the internet. Bad way to treat your guest I'm sorry .

It was clean, the breakfast was good.

Very clean, greeted in a friendly manner, breakfast was great with a lot of variety

Did not realize the pool was not open yet.

Our room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a hot breakfast and not just continental options.

The parking lot had signs saying it was under construction, but I didn't see any evidence of that. It was on the rough side, so hopefully, the construction will fix that.

The air conditioner/heater is right next to bed and blowings air directly on the person sleeping in the bed. Very uncomfortable.

Being moved to another room closer to the lobby. The lobby was very welcoming with two fireplaces and comfortable seating. We enjoyed having a cuppa coffee and watching TV by the fire. Breakfast was good.

The first room was all the way at the end of the hall. The heater was on constantly and noisy. The toilet was not flushing right. We asked for another room when there was a squealing sound. They, thankfully, moved us to a very quiet and more Convenient room. The manager, as we were leaving, offered his name to get a discount on our way back home, at another Holiday Inn Express, near Savannah.

Bed very comfy

smelled like weed and cigarette smoke, and our friend who stayed in another room had no shower curtain in her shower and the whole room smelled like smoke.
