Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Portsmouth Exeter

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and allowed an early arrival. The room was very clean. The hotel was busy and there is only one elevator.

For a 3 night I had to ask for housekeeping and was told it was not routine. What's with that? When the room was "cleaned" they only made the bed and replaced the towels. The bathroom wasn't cleaned up, the coffee service was left a mess. The trash can was not emptied. There were people smoking right outside of the front door so everyone entering could get a nice whiff of tobacco. Overall a lousy and dirty hotel for a ridiculously high price to get a crappy room and service.

The staff was super nice! The beds are pretty firm - too firm for my taste. I have to agree with another reviewer about waiting until the remodel is done. They are *mostly* done, but there were definitely some things that were not finished. Some oddities: no soap dish in the bathroom, the shampoo / body wash bottles were jammed into the shower door, not on the wall in a holder. As a result, the labels were backward. The breakfast was the low spot. The oatmeal looked like soup and the scrambled eggs were tasteless. The good news is the rates were low and I just needed one night on a road trip. Not a terrible stay, but not really what I was hoping for.

Had a great time. The hotel was under reservations but it wasn’t a bother. Excellent staff and a pretty decent morning breakfast

The breakfast was good, staff very pleasant and accommodating.

Though the bed was very comfortable, the sheets could be crisper.

I realize that construction was going on, just small details . it was a good stay

So much construction and pool was the size of a bath tub. Would not stay there again

Ok but long waits for coffee, toaster was not working ,there was no soy milk,or similar for few days, no bread, old cold muffins etc.Unhappy breakfasts.

The whole hotel is going through a major renovation , noise,dirty, massy disaster !!! Never again never , YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT THIS HOTEL is out of order , and you should NOT rent / sell rooms from this hotel !!! Dozens of renovation workers eat breakfast in the busiest hours , so the guests are forced to wait for their turn. The elevator is busy with deliveries for the renovation , and always dirty . The workers of the renovation o / from south- central AMERICA , an CHINA / live in the same hotel same level , where the guests are living . They are noise , UP trough midnight . The same week when I arrived the wallpapers on my floor has been taken ,and new wallpapered were applied to the walls . THE SMELL of the adhesive and the solvents the workers used was UNBEARABLE and presented a serious health hazard !!! The workers used face masks but HOW ABOUT THE GUESTS !!!??? YOU HAVE TO INTERVENE ,and stop using this hotel till the renovation is over. !! PLEASE GIVE ME COMPENSATIONS for my struggles in this hotel for four weeks !! Thanks, Dr Laszlo Ilniczky
