Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Portsmouth Exeter

Very dissapointed to find place is under renovations, wasnt notified of that and also pool was closed when it was the main reason i booked place in the first place for my daughter and her friend to be able to swim on their vacation.

Location OK. Parking available. Beds OK

Under renovation. Building materials, mess, noise in reception and on our floor hallway. Room carpet soaking wet.

I was scheduled to stay here for a week but ended up leaving three days early. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room had good lighting and great water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The downside: the hotel is undergoing major renovations so the majority of rooms are unavailable due to the ongoing construction. Doors are propped open all the way down the hall while they work on the rooms. The stairwell and hall had a really strong chemical smell like paint or carpet glue throughout my stay. The floors of the hallways had boxes of flooring materials and garbage on them from the constructions as well construction dust tracked down the hallways for my entire stay. There was a box cutter blade laying on the carpet in the hallway outside of one of the rooms for my entire stay, which is a hazard for the children that were in the hotel. Once the construction is finished in March the hotel will likely be lovely and comfortable but I don't recommend staying there until after the constructions finishes. I was not aware of it when I booked my room.

We will stay again. This was our second time. Very convenient, clean, and friendly.

Only issue but a good one was that renovations were on going. But I've stayed here before and will again. convenient and close to Exeter town and close to my sons boarding school. Bill (staff) is very helpful and kind and always has a smile!

The staff are phenomenal. The rooms were a bit dated but very clean. The staff really go out of their way to provide a fantastic stay.

Ot happy with the condition of the room: closet door was damaged and not working well, The interior door lock was broken so no extra security. No housekeeping services on the day after arrival - not notified of this upon arrival. Staff was very pleasant and helpful but unable to fix the problems - stated the first floor was to be renovated "this week".

Bill was very accommodating.
