Budget Inn - Troy

You get what you pay for is still true. I was trying to spend as little as possible because I was literally only going to sleep and shower here in between three very busy days at a nearby facility. The elderly gentleman who checked me in was the best thing about the place. The sleeping and the showering BOTH were full of misadventures. DO NOT LET THEM PUT YOU IN ROOM 108. It is next to the hotel office and the overnight clerk is apparently deaf. The tv across the lobby was at full volume all night and I got very little sleep. The rock-hard bed didn't help. As for the shower, I forgot my shampoo so needed to use theirs. Their shampoo was in a foil pouch that had no perforation or slit to open it and the foil was VERY strong. I thought I was going to break a tooth trying to get to the shampoo. I didn't expect Egyptian cotton towels at a budget-level hotel, but boy, I didn't expect hairshirts, either. Those things were thin and rough. At least I got an unexpected exfoliation. I got the bed and the shower I paid for. Neither were pleasant experiences.

The non smoking room smelled like smoke in the drapes the bedding the damn walls all smelled like cigarettes I had to sit with my door open for the majority of the time I was there and had to do 2 extra nebulizer treatments for my breathing!

There was really nothing out of the ordinary about this motel. The bed was comfortable, there was a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. . At check-in they had a lot of difficulty finding my reservation . The "breakfast" consisted of muffins, toast, or cereal, no protein.

Dive motel among dive motels. Charged me $10 extra for 2 bed room. Very hard to find at night.

Friendly and experienced staff

We stayed two nights, everything was good the first night. The second night we came in the bed was made but the dirty towels and wash clothes was left and no clean on a were left.

The saying goes "You get what you pay for." This holds true in this situation as well. I asked for a non-smoking room, but when I entered the room, there was a definite stench of cigarette smoke, which would definitely bother someone with asthma. Other than that, there was nothing else that really stood out about this inn. The beds were hard, the thermometer was stuck on 79, and the bathrooms were not very large. It is not on the top of my list of hotels, but in a pinch, it will do.

The TV was outdated and only received a couple of channels. The first night there was a spider in the bathroom and a fly in the bedroom. They didn't bring fresh towels for the second day of our stay. I had to ask for towels. They said you have to turn in one day's towels to the office to get more. And the towels were threadbare. Not good. My son's room had two spiders. The Wi-fi was very slow. I have stayed here many times over the years and it must have recently changed owners because this time made me not want to stay again.
