Rosas & Xocolate Boutique Hotel and Spa Merida, a Member of Design Hotels

Location was great, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms & bathrooms a good size with a nice outdoor bath & breakfast was good quality (& a lot of it!). It was very busy for breakfast on the weekend, but the staff found tables for hotel guests very quickly.

For the price point it was relatively expensive compared to other places we stayed. The rooms could do with a lick of paint, the spa was closed (which we were informed about beforehand), however the refurb meant banging throughout the day. It states there is parking, but this is on street, not a private car park. Food in the restaurant for dinner was not great, nor was the service - would recommend going elsewhere instead, as there are nicer, cheaper places to eat in the area.

I was somewhat disappointed in this property. Food was excellent in the restaurant. But the room was showing some wear. And the stairs and hallways were very dark and didn’t have railings. The AC blasted out so I had to keep turning it off and then got hot.

Some of the best food I ever had at their restaurant. It's that good. I'm difficult to impress. Large vast menu. Very charming hotel. Unique and pretty. Well worth it. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The next time I am in Mérida I would stay here again without a doubt. The restaurant staff in particular was exceptional with their hospitality. I enjoyed seeing them every day. I did however had 2 minor issues. The first was that I made a reservation for lunch at noon. It was confirmed. But on the day of the lunch, I was informed that the kitchen wasn't opened until 1pm. We waited until 1pm and was told maybe 1:30pm. So that confusion was disappointing but I returned for diver instead and it was well worth the wait. The 2nd issue was that there was some kind of work being done next to my room. There was a lot of hammering around 8am. I left the hotel room and returned at 4pm and the hammering was still on going until 5pm. But considering how nice my stay was up till then I would overlook it. Minor issues

Don’t ruin your vacation by staying here. Many better options.
