The Black Pearl Beach Side Apartments

Property was spotless, staff very friendly Property was on the western side of the island, nice and quiet with beautiful sunsets. Local bus was a treat going right around the island. Cabana had a separate bathroom, kitchen and very comfortable king size bed. Beaut pool and just across the road from the beach Other resorts with restaurants are walking distance away Very good location

Lovely stay at The Black Pearl! Rangi and Twin at Reception are pleasant, helpful and we appreciate all they did to make our visit so enjoyable. Service is fantastic here! The location on the island is perfect--especially if you like to snorkel across the road. And, enjoy the pool when you want to cool off. A small, comfortable place to stay for a relaxing get-away.

We have stayed there before and like its location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Units are large and bright and airy. Only thing letting it down is that its getting a little tired now and needs some upgrading in terms of bathrooms/toilets.

Great location for sunsets, snorkeling, relaxing, easy to catch bus. Excellent service and care. Rangi and the team were amazing and made sure we were picked up (in the middle of the night with flower lei!) and taken to our room, and given a surprise and welcome fruit platter. She arranged car hire for us for the day with no fuss. There was some parking for rental vehicles at the front of the property. Next door was a takeaway, petrol station, ice cream and grocery store which was handy. The beach across the road provided good snorkeling at high tide and excellent sunset. About 10 mins walk anti-clockwise direction was an even better snorkeling area in a marine reserve, Beautiful! The room had all you need and was very spacious, and the pool area was nice outside. There were a few families there too, and it seemed ideal for them. Friendly dog and chatty chickens! Would happily stay again. Thank you so much!!

We liked the quiet atmosphere and the proximity to the café and supermarket next door and the friendly staff who were very helpful.

Would definitely stay again! The service was great -- they even let us do late checkout so we didn't have to burn time before our flight. The pool area is nice, and the grounds are well thought out. Just to manage expectations, this isn't a luxury hotel, but it's great for a beach vacation. There was a clothing line outside behind our room for hanging wet clothes, and a kitchen as well. Plus, the room was really spacious. It's a particularly great place for families, although we traveled as a couple and had a nice time too. Just a quick note on wifi -- wifi is expensive, which is standard in the Cook Islands (from what I could tell). Anyway, it ended up giving us a more relaxing stay, but it's best to be prepared!
