Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse

Unfortunately, our experience at the Mövenpick Sousse was far below expectations—especially considering the hotel’s reputation and price range. The rooms are old, worn out, and clearly in need of renovation. Much of the furniture is falling apart, giving the impression of a hotel that has not been properly maintained. The bathroom is extremely poorly lit—there is barely enough light to apply makeup or for my husband to shave properly. Another major inconvenience is the lack of usable power outlets. The only outlet available is by the bed, far from any mirror, making it nearly impossible to use a hair straightener. The bathtub cannot be used, as the plug does not seal and water drains out continuously. The room heating does not work, which is a serious issue during the winter season. On top of that, the TV in our room did not work for the entire two weeks of our stay, despite repeatedly informing the reception about it. The hair dryer kept overheating and shutting off, making it completely unreliable. Sleeping at night was often difficult due to significant street noise. The biggest issue is the nightclub across the street, where parties go on until 5 AM. Even with closed windows, the noise made it nearly impossible to sleep on several nights. The food and drink selection by the pool was very poor. Although the menu listed many options, only two juices were available during our whole stay, and the same applied to the cocktails. This is very far from the variety the hotel advertises. The security checks at the entrance were also exhausting. Every time we returned to the hotel, we had to show our belongings and room card again, as the security staff apparently couldn’t remember guests who had been passing by them daily for two weeks. Instead of feeling safe, this constant repetition became irritating and unnecessary. While the hotel has potential and a great location, the overall experience fell far below expectations. Without serious renovations, improved maintenance, and a more guest-friendly approach, it is difficult to recommend this hotel.

Be aware before booking My recent stay at Mövenpick Sousse fell far below the standards expected from a hotel carrying a 5-star reputation. On the first day, I reported that both the bathroom fan and the TV in my room weren’t working. Seven days later, despite multiple reminders, neither issue was resolved. This isn’t a matter of bad luck — it reflects a breakdown in basic operational follow-through. The more concerning problem is the service culture. I tip regularly when I’m carrying cash, usually 10–12 dinars, yet several staff behaved as though tipping was an obligation for even the smallest gesture. On occasions when I didn’t have cash on hand, I experienced open disrespect, including being insulted in Arabic under the assumption I wouldn’t understand. This goes beyond unprofessional. It exposes a serious lapse in training and customer care that damages the brand at its core. The hotel visually presents itself as a 5-star property, but the service aligns more closely with a 2-star operation. I’ve stayed in far better 4-star hotels with stronger hospitality and far more consistent standards. The only positive note is a single female staff member at the front desk who maintained genuine professionalism throughout my stay.

Let me start by giving a huge shout out to Chadia! She has been a blessing, thank you so much Chadia for not only making sure my room was always super clean but she also went the extra mile and made my daughters personal blanket into different decoration on the bed too! She took the time to not only learn but remember my daughter’s name! Showed her so much love and care, I cannot thank her enough she’s been an absolute star. I stayed in room 3125 beautiful room with a beautiful view of the resort and all 4 pools! My daughter and I love water &love to swim so it was perfect view to wake up to! The resort is breathtaking and perfect for a chilled family get away! Big shout out also to the ladies in the spa for being so wonderfully welcoming to my daughter and I!

Not recommended at all! The problems started from the very first minute I arrived at this hotel. At the parking entrance, they told me to leave my bags near the door outside and go park my car downstairs. Of course, no one came to help. I had to carry my bags by myself, park two levels down, and then walk back up without any elevator or direct access from the parking to the hotel. When I finally got back to the entrance, I found my bags exactly where I left them — still outside. No one helped, so I had to carry everything up the stairs myself. I even saw older tourists struggling to do the same, which was honestly sad to see. Then came the security check. I had to lift my bags again for scanning. The guard asked if I had alcohol; I said yes (it was a gift bottle). He said it wasn’t allowed and told me to give it to him until checkout. I had to open my bag right there, in front of everyone — showing my clothes and underwear in public. Extremely embarrassing. And this was just the first five minutes! When I reached the room, there was no soap, only shampoo, and no shower gel. Honestly, I advise everyone not to book this hotel. There are many much better hotels in Sousse — even 4-star ones offer far better service and respect for guests.

The service was mid, with the exception of a few staff, such as Ibrahim in the buffet resturant. Ibrahim was always friendly, helpful, and attentive. He would go out of his way to make sure we had drinks and checked in on us. There was also an excellent man who worked at the bar and pool area, he would greet us every morning with 2 towels and sort us a good spot by the pool. He always asked how we were and would bring us drinks and offer food. The pool and beach was lovely, the sea is much warmer than the pool, but was lovely to dip in the cold pool after sunbathing all day. We had a 6 floor room with a limited sea view which was nice. You can use a switch to tell the house keeping if you would like them to clean your room or not and shows a green or red light on the outside. Always clean and tidy. No entertaiment in the day or evening which was a little disappointing. One major thing we noticed was if you are all inclusive you aren't as taken care of, as the hotel also allows people to come in for meals and drinks, it seems if you are paying for drinks or food you get a better service (with the exception of Ibrahim and the man by the pool, of course) As part of all inclusive we got to go to Cafe Aga daily, (service was lacking, one drink and never offered another one, unless paying), Tapas resturant, and Sendai (sushi bar). Both resturants were a limited menu, but they were still very tasty and good quality. If you are coming here, or we came again, we would go half board rather than all inclusive. I think the experience would be very different. Overall, great holiday, food was delicious, and got a nice winter tan!

The one think i have noticed and didn't like that the toilet seats are so high that it is difficult to relaxed, not comfortable. Otherwise the hotell is beautiful, 😍 the rooms are beautiful, and the cervice it's beautiful, nothing to complain about.its central location, offering easy access to local attractions and the beach. The hotel's atmosphere is elegant, with chic décor and relaxing pool areas, very secure in the beach you can live your thingseven walet and gett back like you are att home, you can relax no body disturb. A very trusted room cleaners. I look forward going back there to mövenpick hotell Anders they lower the toilet seats 😀

Huge hotel. Very nice lobby. Great pools, the view is amazing. But I give 4 stars and not 5 because of the furniture in the room, the waiters at the restaurant and the light in the bathroom. Other things are ok, they have also á la carte restaurant.

We were directed here after a flight delay by Easy Jet - 2 nights of misery . The accommodation was reasonable and situation lovely . The food was disgusting and often cold and not properly cooked . The restaurant staff including the Manager wee rude and not in the least interested in finding you a table or clearing away dirty plates . The Reception staff were much the same and we had so long to wait for checking in on arrival . Especially after having spent 8 hours at the airport . I would not have liked to pay the prices asked for this place . Certainly not up to the Standard specified.

Food at this hotel was very poor quality for both breakfast and dinner. Was like warm. Undercooked boiled eggs and omelettes.in experienced and rude staff who had no interest in their job. They did not help you find a table. Took a long time to come and clear one, and also to give out glasses and cutlery. Cutlery was basic, glasses at beach bar were chipped. ( beer ones) Drinks were over priced if you were half board. Only one member of staff ( female) at reception was nice. Others were rude and unaccomodating. You can smoke in anywhere you like in the elegant lobby area near reception. Which meant all furniture smelt of smoke, and really off putting if you are a non smoker. Wine we purchased was corked and Undrinkable After asking barman for a 2nd bottle to try he said he would but we should have asked earlier. However on getting a 2nd bottle it was just the same and had a lot of sediment in it. No daily entertainment at this hotel. And very little entertainment at night. Desserts at night were poor. Too much chocolate in crepes. There was a 10 minute per person for a crepe usually. We were very dissapointed as a family to be put here after our flight was cancelled for an additional two days. Looks elegant. Pool area beautiful, we were upgraded to a junior suite but everything else was terrible. I would not recommend this hotel
