The Reef Retreat

Well equipped and very close to restaurants and the beach.

Had the best stay at The Reef Retreat. My apartment was perfect. I'd have breakfast there that I cooked myself before exploring Palm Cove and the local attractions. Jim at reception would book anything you'd like to including transport. After exploring Palm Cove, Cairns the reef or where you went. You come home to relax before treating your self to the local restaurants. Having such prime location is amazing. After a long I'd go for a dip in the heated pool and hot tub spa. Amazing atmosphere. My favourite place, I'll be back.

The pool as a Sectional temperature. The grounds were quiet. The room was large, open and had a beautiful atmosphere. I highly recommend selecting VIP option for this stay.

We had 4 nights here recently and really enjoyed our stay. Jim on reception was very welcoming and friendly. As we had flown from Adelaide on the 6am flight we were very pleased to be able to access our room early so we could start our relaxing holiday. The property is older but everything was clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable. It was in a great position close to the beach and restaurants. Water pressure in the shower was a bit feeble but adequate. We would definitely book this property again on our next visit to palm cove.

We had a lovely 10 day stay at this resort recently. The place has a lot of character unlike the clinical resorts in the main road the pool was surrounded by lovely trees towering over it. The room with a balcony was perfect very roomy and clean. The resort is quiet and peaceful, the staff very helpful. Would highly recommend staying there, we will be back.

This property is very very very average… not at all kids friendly… the pools were dirty as a drain .. they dont bother cleaning pools .. in fact me and my husband caught covid since we have come back from this place … the room was not clean at all while we checked in … tv was in some random direction for the sake of it … no fan outside in the balcony which was disappointing.. the room smelled funny … the floor was super dirty … and the man at reception was super intimidating to say anything .. i dont think people with kids should be at this place … their unhygienic measures costed me to have COVID … i wont come back..

Stayed here for 4 nights and overall had an enjoyable stay. The room we had was spacious and the bed linen and towels were clean. We had a private door into our balcony which was also nice. I would say that the pool needs cleaning as does the hot tub and generally a good tidy up around the grounds which would make it a lot nicer. There are no eating/drinking facilities on site but bars and restaurants are a 2/3 minute walk away. You can buy drinks from the fridge in the reception. Jim and Joanne were very helpful and Jim especially helped us booking car hire and trips so I don’t get the rude review on here.

Jim and Joanne went out of their way to help facilitate our work Christmas family weekend. The venue was perfect providing a large undercover deck area for us to gather as a group, yet plenty of privacy as well to do your own thing. The place was very well maintained and has great character. All 20 people in our group thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Highly recommend this place.

The reef retreat is in a great location just off the waterfront and was nice and sheltered from the constant on-shore wind. The apartment was also clean. On the down side the accommodation was very basic and quite dated, definitely not worthy of 4 stars as listed - more like a basic Airbnb. The pool area was ok but a bit underwhelming. The worst part though was the attitude of the gentleman on reception. He was extremely rude, literally everything seemed to be too much bother. His grumpy offhand manner and eye rolling were unpleasant and unnecessary. The lady staff member was great though!
