The Reef Retreat

This was our second visit to Palm Cove and first to Reef Retreat. Loved the pool area and BBQ deck. Rainforest gardens give some shade from hot sun. The staff were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

3 star rating, has passed it's use by date. Pool has far too many trees, can't really enjoy the sun, outside needs lots of tidying up and pool full of fallen gum leaves, in general a good makeover. Studio room clean, not much wardrobe space, especially if staying 2weeks plus, basic. Location good. Would I return?, probably not. Website pictures obviously taken some time back. The place is old and didn't enjoy pool area at all.

we booked this through 7 across, 7 nights 1 bedroom unit. The pictures on the website great, reviews - mostly good - great location - what could go wrong? Trouble is that the room is not the same as advertised - the "living room" is tiny, dark, cramped, uncomfortable to sit in and totally inapropriate for more than one night. They have nice rooms - just not ours. We mentioned to the guy at reception that the room was not as advertised he said - yeah, you are a 7 across booking. When we started talking to other resorts about moving they said - we get quite a few people coming in who stayed there and want to move. We shouldnt complain too much from our balcony we have a lovely view of the car park and a lot of dead leaves which is nice. If we wanted to stay in this type of room we could have put a chair in the closet at home. There is no sense of the niceness of the Palm Cove that we love - 5th visit. After 3 nights we have decided that we will move on and forfeit the other 4 - we do not get enough holiday time to spend at a place like this. Will upload a pic for your enjoyment. Oh - and the pool is...meh.

Loved it. Beautiful room, loved the indoor/outdoor kitchen dining area. Loved the spa. Perfect location!

We stayed for a week at the Reef Retreat Palm Cove, and enjoyed every minute. While we booked a spa room, we didn't use the spa at all as the pool and outside spa were too amazing to pass up. Our villa overlooked the pool, with ample privacy to not feel exposed. It was clean, the outdoor kitchen was well equipped (though also unused - so many options for meals in walking distance), and the king bed was very comfortable. Jim was friendly and helpful, and we'll definitely be back.

Great relaxed atmosphere - everything we needed was on hand.

Great location, beautiful gardens and lovely shady pool area. We had a studio apartment which was quite small but adequate with a comfy bed.

The hosts were very friendly, generous and and accommodating. The property was very conveniently located o the beach and restaurants/cafes. I would stay here again.
