Aruba Sands Resort

Great location, all facilities are available, washing machine, dryer, kitchen, TV, verandah, iron, safe and secured car parking (not needed on this occasion), the local public transportation is also great

Upgrading facilities, bathroom and shower are old and dated but fully functional, topping up of tea and sugars and coffee sachets and fresh milk every day or second day

Breakfast was not provided or expected.

Did not realise there are 3 Aruba facilities in Broadbeach. As I’m a return customer it was a surprise. Didn’t like being at the top of a 3 storey unit. I found it very hard dragging all my luggage up and down the stairs. For the price the unit was tired with broken things like the toilet. The stuff in the kitchen was poor quality, the bed was old and uncomfortable. My guess is the unit was probably built in the 80’s so lots of things were rusty. The floor tiles needed replacing even though some things were updated. We consequently checked 1 day early.

location was great, having a washing machine and own balcony, well noise insulated. Great kitchen and shower.

Ceanliness

Could smell smoke when we first arrived. My daughter came home with a rash, hospital said it was scabies. I was okay but slept with winter pj and socks as I get cold. Location was noisy with police station at bedroom window waking me when called out but proximity balanced this out. Unit could use a deep clean on walls and couch but you could tell it had had a general clean. Office staff were nice.

The pool needs shade. It was hot in the mid day but pool was completely exposed to sun and I have had skin cancer so wanted to swim but no shade. Pool also had lots of leaves from neighboring property fall into it while I swam. I removed these. Knowing this someone must come regularly to clean the pool as it looked nice when I did go in.
