Raina Holiday Accommodation

The location was fantastic, across the road from a beautiful beach where we swam everyday. If you walk down a bit it was lovely and sandy and you could swim bare feet. The UV water filling Station was right across the road so easy access to treated water. The hall across the road did fitness workouts everyday for a small charge The venue is walking distance to Charlie's restaurant, and a local dairy and cafe. There is lots to do on this side of the island close to Muri Market and the cruise operators. The rooms are very spacious and the fans do a great job of keeping the rooms cool, so we were really comfortable in the spaces. [Noted as there was no air con but it was ok] There is plenty of parking, and our flight was delayed but the cleaner was there to open our rooms for us even though it was late.The Manager was very responsive and lovely to deal with over the phone. We enjoyed our stay due to the great location, however an update of the bathrooms and servicing of the rooms daily would need to happen for us to stay again.

The rooms are only serviced once every 3 days, so you only get one towel per guest for the 3 days, so you will need to take your own towels. There are rope lines out the front but no pegs, so bring your own or throw clothes over the lines. The guest book says you get beach towels as well, but we did not get any. We could not use the kayaks as the paddles had been broken, and I asked for paddles which we got on the last day I asked the owner whom lives in the top apartment for a broom to sweep my room and she told me where to find it in the complex laundry room but make sure I put it back. I asked the manager if we could access the laundry facilities, and she advised us to ask the cleaner and pay $5 per load. My daughter asked the owner when she was ready to do a wash and could not find the cleaner so asked the owner who was in the garden to be told it was $20 a load because of the cost of power and so on. When we checked the guest book in the rooms, it said $10 a wash. So I gave feedback to the manager re this, and she received the feedback well on just improving the communication and collateral. The bathrooms are very old and need updating. One of our rooms had the fittings for a shower door but no door. Some of the insect screens were broken and had holes or gaps, and the sliding door in our room had to be lifted to open and close as it did not slide. The water pressure is non-existent and dribbles out of the shower head even on just cold water. There is no office, so if you need help, you have to find the owner or hope the cleaning lady is working that day. I mostly communicated through email to the manager.

Text messages from the host keeping me well informed. We were running late but they had my name on the beach house door and I was given instructions with the code to get the key from a lock box.

The wifi wasn't working but they got people to come and fix it towards the end of our stay. It didn't bother us as we had a data roaming pack.

Had a lovely stay here! Beach across the road is absolutely stunning! Older sort of building but great value as it’s very spacious, safe and right across the road from the most beautiful beach! Staff have been super friendly & helpful. Lots of roosters around the island so prepare for an early wake up call! Lots of dogs around the island too & also a sweet old pup at Raina. It’s about a 30 minute walk to Muri beach, definitely a lot further out than a 8 minute walk. Charlie’s and Cafe Puretu close by for a feed Both with beautiful views & also a small convenience store.

Everyone at this property was so nice and friendly. Our flight got canceled and we booked in short notice. They allowed us to check in early, ensuring the room was done and ready. when we arrived the staff and people there were all just so lovely. Beautiful beach across the road. and amazing restaurant about a 2 min walk away :)

Loved the beautiful spacious rooms and location of where it was

Got moved to a smaller room which I was pretty sure we were still paying for the bigger one, shower was also cold for a few days and difficult to sort out

This accommodation was perfect for our needs Short walk across the road to amazing snorkelling Charlie’s cafe also just over the road with access to free wifi Short drive to Muri beach village for more dining, night markets, beautiful lagoon for all sorts of water sports and scuba dive shop

Great location close to the beach and a small shop and very close to Charlie's bar! Stayed at the separate house rather than the apartments. Large, comfortable bed, spacious room, nice outside deck area. Hosts are very welcoming

Facilities for self-catering need to be up-dated - gas cooker felt a bit dangerous (only 2 rings working and broken knobs), a few more plates, cups etc. would be good

Large apartment room, awesome location. Friendly staff.

A bit tired and in need of an upgrade but clean and tidy and suitable for two guys lol.
