"Good price for lovely room. We will come again."

Lovely large room. Very clean. Large comfortable bed. Plenty tea, coffee and milk. Price was very good. Staff very pleasant. Excellent shower.

No net curtain of car park facing window. Window mechanism was broken. Air con not working. Portable fan couldn't be raised and it was pointing at the floor. Loo roll ran out. Couldn't find a bottle opener.

"A means to an end."

Umm, the location? Literally on the A1, a necessary thoroughfare for me getting from Folkestone to the North of England. The price, taking into account what you get, was fair. The reception staff, working the graveyard shift (I arrived at 3am) were perfectly polite and amiable.

The hotel's in serious need of an update and refresh. I've been staying at the hotel for over twenty years, and whilst back in the day it represented a good value, pretty contemporary accommodation, this is nearly quarter of a Century ago. Crestfallen is the hotel brand, now nothing more than a cheap - yet convenient - motel. A revamp of the rooms, and the archaic public areas doesn't take that much, does it?
