Hotel Africana

It was such a pleasure to spend a few nights at this really welcoming hotel this week whilst in Kampala. Thanks to the whole team for your delightful welcome and hospitality. We enjoy wonderful, tasty and varied breakfast and fantastic African BBQ in the gardens with live music and clean and well equipped rooms. The staff were a pleasure to meet and could not have been more helpful and relatable. They went over and above their gift of service. Thank you we will be back for sure!

I have stayed at Hotel Africana during each of my many annual working trips to Uganda since 2007. The hotel is well located and has extensive grounds unlike most one-block city hotels. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with a large desk for work. Fortunately, rooms are regularly refurbished and updated. The staff are so warm and always courteous. Very importantly, housekeeping staff keep the room very clean and are very honest. The warm welcome, good location and room comfort are the main reasons I continue to come back to this hotel year after year.

The rooms are functional although quite old. We stayed in a room which had smelling toilets. Thank fully we were changed to another room. The lifts have limited options so sometimes you may have to wait. The reception staff were not friendly, after arriving past midnight, they made us wait for a long time to verify our booking. They system is generally slow.
