Merdeka Palace Hotel & Suites

We got a 3 bedroom apartment for the 6 of us. We were on level 15 and the walkway looked like a scene from The Shining. The rooms' conditions were undesirable. Mouldy toilet doors. Very dusty aircom vents. Ants on some of the furniture. However, we appreciate the space and the location. Walkable to the Borneo Cultural Museum and the Waterfront Hotel (mall). We gave the swimming pool a miss. Not giving it a one because the hotel does have nice staff and some of the fellow travellers we met in the lift were so friendly, it made the stay felt like home.

Too long for check in, very bad staff on pool and playground . The playground doesnt exist anymore, the pool very bad . The staff at the pool and gym not friendly at all . If u wanna try something bad just try this hotel

i has make the reservation via Agoda with some request such as high floor, twin bed, non-smoking room. before my travel date, i'm unable to get reply from hotel after I message via agoda and drop email to hotel. I asked front desk during my check-in time, front desk said that not manage by front desk and he cannot do anything. and i got the room with queen bed which i request to get twin bed. Front desk said unable to do any arrangement for us. end up, some one look like front office manager show and help to arrange for twin bed room for us. for room key, it been disactivated for 2nd day stay. i have to go front desk ask for new card to enter my room

Glad I chose this hotel because it was close to a shopping mall and close to a museum I wanted to visit. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, everything worked as it should and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very comfortable for my family trip, overall im satisfied with the accommodation. Please fix the shower.. Thats all.. Tqvm.. 😊😊😊

Affordable suite. Suitable for a group more than 4. Unfortunately, the room was not sound proof. We can hear people talking from outside. The accommodations are very good. The hotel has swimming pool for children to swim. Overall i was satisfied.

I don't really know how to say this but the hotel is barely holding together both furnishing and amenities. I'm ok with somethings not working but when the door knob literally comes off the door, the safe doesn't even work nor the hair dryer, or the room phone is broken and left in a drawer. Like basic things have to work. The room is clean-ish. The bed is comfy though, the rain shower is awesome, its a big queen sized room for 1 pax for a business trip. This hotel has certainly seen better days, I know its rough from Covid and etc, but the pool is dead and green, the kids playground looks like its out of a horror film, none of this is said on the website that these amenities are no longer available. It is convenient that it is 30min from the airport by car, there is a big mall opposite and its near the Borneo Cultural Museum. I mean, its very average to get you by. I do hope they improve and things get repaired.
