Merdeka Palace Hotel & Suites

Lovely staff and lobby and great location. Unfortunately the hotel rooms are in dire need of an update . Ours had a very old , musty smell also . Unfortunately would not return because of the aged , stained rooms .

Upon arrival, concierge is nonexistent, as baggage trolleys appeared to be enjoying retirement. Check in staff was friendly, no hitches there. The room, although spacious, seems to preserve the 1970s era furniture and carpets. A 2-seater sofa for a 4 person room is just unacceptable, for which the management offered banquet chairs as a solution. Initially, all the amenities expected were absent. This includes the TV remote, slippers, bathroom floor mats and handtowels. Iron is unusable as it’s covered with a layer of melted plastic. The building in general is long due a complete overhaul. A hotel very much missing it’s good old days.

Aircon vent has a thick layer of dust and air of room smells musty. Room cleanliness in that sense leaves much to be desired

As noted by others , unfortunately , a once, very majestic hotel ( is only 25yo ) is now very dated and in need of major refit. However , the rooms are large ,clean and the bed very comfortable ( if you like a firm bed ). Nothing else compatible for the location and price

I think they need to remodel the room and floor and ceiling They r in the good location but be hotel environment looks s bad and dirty This is my first time stay here and the last time if they don’t improve the environment I can’t con back again I like the location here and the hotel workers r very friendly and nice If they could change will hav good business

The room is too bad ,looks too old not maintain well, I suggest the hotel need to maintain more,looks not clean But the staffs in the hotel everyone is very good service That is what I like

There was a leak from the roof. Water was dropping every other second. I was only there to stay one night. I chose not to use the wardrobe as I do not want me or my belongings to get wet.

Convenient to visit museum

Overall rate the hotel is good but need be re’new’ed in some aspects. Things to improve: 1. The suite are good but there were parts are moldy. Need to fixed that. 2. Room Telephone line was broken. Not been fixed for 2 weeks im there. 3. Room service was good. They came everyday but didnt clean thoroughly. Things we appreciate: 1. The management text us personally to check on us since my child had some unhealthy issues. They even offered a transportation to hospital. Thank you. 2. The staff are very friendly. Thank you. 3. The food are still very nice and cheap. Keep it up. 4. Location are great. Middle of the city. All d best management
