"Funky in a good way, would go back"

8.0

Some would consider this about two stars but for what it is, a hostal, it is very nice. Our room was fine but not plush. There was a very comfortable bed, excellent air conditioner, adequate bathroom with shower. Both the guests and workers made our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was good, not great. The location can't be beat. Our room overlooked the malecon and river. Clincher was the photo of me in the yellow hammock celebrating my 75th.

Good hostel on the Malecon. Excellent communal areas but can be a little noisy. Good value for hostel regulars.

"Unique Atmosphere in a Great Location"

8.0

Traveling as a party of three Manso was one of the minority of Hotels that would put us all in one room. I am accustomed to more upscale hotels but don't mind something different. None of the taxi driver's seemed to know where the Manso was located. And neither did we until we spotted a very small sign by a locked door. After toting our luggage up a flight of stairs we found we were at the right place. We had requested a room on a higher floor which we later regretted when we found out there was no elevator (two of our party were over 60). Air nor Wi-Fi worked (in our room). Room a bit dingy...windows were dirty. But.....the staff and the general ambiance seemed to make up for all these deficiencies. The views of the river Guayas were lovely and the open air balconies were soothing. The location was excellent. The very plain food was cheap and healthy. The staff sweet and helpful. So....I'll give the place two thumbs up.

"Silvia made our stay!"

10.0

Manso Boutique is a wonderful place to stay if you want something quaint and a little bohemian. Their gift shop had unique gifts that we brought home to our family, and cue gifts like that were hard to find in Guayquil. Our room was located right on the the main Malecon street, which made it hard to sleep but that is my only complaint with this cute hotel in an excellent location. Silvia made our stay there absolutely wonderful. She helped us with taxi's, helped us get around the city and made sure we were taken care of. The room was pretty clean and we had a nice big bathroom but the carpets could use some help, or be replaced. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good Ecuadorian experience.

"Would definitely stay again"

10.0

What a great location! Sitting on the balcony overlooking the river and watching families, kids and couples both local and tourists alike enjoying the parks, restaurants, food kiosks and shops available was fantastic. The Manso guesthouse is situated within walking distance of many of the cities attractions. The huge churches, the Central Park, The market, the iguana park, the Planas and of course the Malecon is just steps away. The staff of the Manso were the best. Helpful, courteous, professional and very accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

"For Artist, Gay travelers and others, this is it."

10.0

I love that its in front of Malecon 2000, the old colonial hill (east) and some few gay bars and clubs are very close to this hotel. Staff are so friendly and the the building has character to it. I would stay here again.
