"Family Reunion Host Hotel"

Our family reserved accommodations with Holiday Inn Express Port Arthur. We needed rooms for our family reunion July 14 - 16, 2023. The checkin process was flawless and we were given our room keys within three minutes! We booked two suites. They were spacious and clean. We were shocked to see both a mini-refrigerator and microwave in the suites, along with a very large wardrobe to store our clothing. The hotel stocks DOVE Bath Products, which is a major plus for my family. (We have extremely sensitive skin and only use Dove products at home.) The free breakfast was absolutely delicious! Scrambled eggs and bacon were my favorites. There is a nice selection to choose from including toast, biscuits, juices, turkey sausage and more. The professionalism of the Front Desk Staff was amazing. I locked my room keys in the room - and Ms. Cynthia Kiel gladly provided assistance. During this time, many guests were checking-out early. She was working alone - but definitely managed to assure everyone felt as though their request was a top priority. Safety: This is a very safe facility. Our son brought DJ Equipment, Saxophones, Flutes and a Keyboard to perform at our family reunion. Items were left unattended overnight and were kept safe! I highly recommend Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Port Arthur, Texas.

Called and was told this was a pet friendly property. Then at 7:00am on the third morning they knocked at our door started calling and harassing us threatening to charge my card for fees. Tried to explain that we had called and was told, even gave the persons name we spoke with, that pets were allowed. It escalated into a complete fiasco. If this has not occurred stay would have been fine, however managerial and policy issues need to be addressed.
