Popinjay Hotel

Room had no view, the smell of what we could only describe as turps flooded the room and with not much of window to open it was bad even the extraction fan in the bathroom did not work so when the shower was on the room steamed up badly. Definitely not a 4 star hotel as rated maybe a 2 at a push, hall ways to the room smelt and was not given a lot of info at checking about the hotel and the facilities we could use. Will definitely not use again

Unfortunately the room had a heavily stained carpet, lighting in the bathroom poor. No WiFi signal in the bedroom. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Definitely not a relaxing stay with noisy springs in the the mattress

Very good value stay, rooms had everything you need and added bonus of accessing the pool and jacuzzi

Great hotel, staff could not do anymore. The food is top draw. It’s that good we are going to stay again in May.

Overnight family stay. Really nice friendly and helpful staff. Great big family room but poor heating and lack of hot water dampened our experience a bit. Nice hotel but really could be doing with a bit of TLC and better windows to keep out the cold and the traffic noise.

Lovely value hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful - bedrooms were good, some areas (like passageways) a bit tired, breakfast was good (a couple of items looked a bit pale) what I ate was lovely Overall a good stay

Excelent stay staff were wonderful as was the food. Bed was very comfortable. Looks a bit run down but did not spoil our stay. Would stay again no problem.

Hotel is dated and lots of areas need updating. Pool is nice but changing facilities poor. Room was small. Staff were excellent and friendly. Good local walks.

I loved the spa, although the sauna was out of order. The pool and changing rooms were immaculate. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and tidy, although the bedroom carpet in room 3 is quite stained. The only improvement I would suggest is for a bottle of drinking water to be put in the bedroom as the tap in the bathroom states the water is not for drinking. My breakfast was very tasty and well cooked.

Really friendly staff. Great gym & spa and lovely full Scotish breakfast to start the day.
