The staff are always friendly and goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.the best christmas pudding and brandy sauce we have ever tasted. The beds are really comfortable well worth the money.

Last minute booking due to family illness, wonderful hospitality. Staff all very helpful and pleasant. Excellent food at breakfast. Due to limited kitchen opening hours, were allowed to bring our own takeaway food in to eat at the restaurant which was a really good offer by the hotel. Gym and spa fab, plenty of equipment and pool lovely and clean. Whole hotel very clean and tidy.

Property needs refurbishment to bring it up to acceptable standard

We had a delightful stay. The staff was extremely hospitable and made us feel so welcome and at home with every request we had. The sauna was such a treat after a day of driving. The morning greeted us with an absolutely gorgeous Christmas scene with the large windows displaying the freshly fallen snow in the breakfast dining room. A lovely historic gem.

Beautiful room in a gorgeous location. The staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable. Our ceiling did have a crack in it from what may have been previous water damage but didn't cause any issues at all.

Good venue location, staff and food were excellent. The hotel does need an upgrade though.

Firstly the hotel staff are exceptional! Very friendly and cannot do enough for you! The hotel itself could do with some updating and repairs but overall isn’t bad! The food although limited menu is excellent! Not had a single issue in my two weeks staying there and looking forward to another week! Definitely worth a visit and I will for sure be making this my go to hotel when I am in the area!

Very nice staff but the carpets need a good clean and the walls need painting in the corridors. This is particularly necessary in the section above the swimming pool. Limited restaurant opening times. Expensive stay for the standard of facilities. However the fitness centre and swimming pool looked good although not open when we arrived due to technical problems.
