Popinjay Hotel

I have used this hotel many times over the last 45 years with friendly staff great service and great food. location is close to the motorway M74 with both Glasgow & Edinburgh within 30-minute drive. It is surrounded by some fantastic countryside with great walks along the river Clyde.

Hotel and room bit run down and in need of work. Toilet in room was bit dirty on arrival.Staff was very nice and friendly.

Hotel looked a bit dated but the service, food, comfort and price made up for that! The staff were excellent.

Lovely stay at the Popinjay. Family meal an the food was excellent. The staff were aesome they were friendly, helpful, tolerant nothing was a bother and they never stopped but always had a smile on their faces. My husband and I commented on a number of occasions about how good they were.

The hotel is nice but the room was ok the shower didnt work which made unpleasant as its a warm day and you like to feel fresh that we were not able to do ive had better facilities in much cheaper hotels which is very disappointing

We had a brief overnight stay while getting major building works done at home. Staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Highly recommend
