Hotel staff at reception, bar etc very helpful. Hotel looks a little worn especially in common areas like stairs etc

The room was not as bad as some comments lead you to believe and the shower was always warm. The internet at this side of the hotel was bad (garden side) however I'm sure some rooms may have better reception and the hotel will be happy to move you to better accomodation. I chose to stay as I loved the room and the view of the garden. The gym and spa are both excellent with everything working fine (except when a power cut shut off the sauna, however it was fixed within the hour). Everything clean and very relaxing especially the jacuzzi! Only problem is charges are newly implemented instead of being free to guests staying at the hotel. Breakfast was always lovely with young staff being very attentive and remembering I didn't drink tea or coffee. The dinner I had for my last night was excellent as well. I was served very promptly and asked throughout if everything was satisfactory. The only fault I could find was the rude mannered older staff who had to deal with my refund as I questioned the amount I paid (I wasn't sure if it was maybe the tip being already accounted for so I asked to see my receipt and found I'd been charged for something I hadn't ordered). Being accused "why did you pay the amount then?" TWICE instead of politely apologizing for the inconvenience and promptly giving the refund and to also listen to the bitchi

Sub standard services from the room to the kitchen. Everything kept to absolute minimum, even toiletries, towels and condiments. Limited to no option for basic facilities! This is definitely not a 3 star hotel as advertised!

Overall the hotel was good... the room I had was well appointed but the bed was old and very uncomfortable... service at the bar was slow at first as there wasn't a permanent person on amd service at breakfast was slow also... they were doing maintenance in the corridor while people were checking out which was a little confusing!

Staff helpful and friendly. Property bit tired in need of a bit maintenance.

This property is tired in places but considering its age probably needs a bit tlc. Overall service from the staff is attentive. Evening meal was was of a good standard, although breakfast was very disappointing, lack of choice and not replenished enough.

Great welcome. Friendly and attentive staff. Gluten Friendly too. Great place to stay after a birthday celebration.

Don't really know where to start. The only good thing was the staff on reception where lovely and very helpful. The rooms where cold, dirty (cobwebs on window) run down, taps loose in bathroom, carpet dirty throughoit, bed was awful felt broken. The food was average, pool area ok but sauna broken. Garden nice to look at and bar area nice with the fire places but that's about it. Whole place needs more care and attention. Only lasted 1 night and left early hated every moment there. Sorted out a refund with the hotel in the end. It's sad as the building has a lot of promise and very quirky but just not well cared for.

Been here many times Don’t know what has happened Food used to be excellent now it’s over priced tasteless dross

Very enjoyable one night stay. Breakfast was good however we had to ask constantly for buffet to be replenished.
