Well run in difficult pandemic situation

This hotel is becoming very tired and in need of decorative attention - particularly to the outside. Poor acoustic protection to the rooms facing the road. Much restricted services due to COVID constraints. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable.

The staff were lovely and very welcoming however the hotel is very run down and in much need of a makeover. Great position in the Clyde Valley

this was not even a 2 star hotel

Our only fault was we were very cold. Heating in bedroom on lowest setting & towel rail in bathroom didn’t work at all.

It was nice great veiw and peicful after the first night if going wouldnt advise going when therr is a wedding on as its a bit rudi

So let’s start with the good points: the reception area, bar area and restaurant are lovely and look fantastic upon arrival. Once you get past that, it goes downhill. The receptionist when we arrived in the evening was lovely, but her grumpy colleague arrives in the morning. The bedroom we were in is not displayed anywhere online, and for good reason: it looks like it’s not been decorated since the 1930s. Orange carpets! The bathroom had cracked tiles, the desks were on their last legs (literally) and the bed was fit to be called a bed. It was more like an assortment of springs that puts your back out... probably so that you pay their in house masseurs for a massage. The shower barely had any water coming from it. I’d rather a camel dribble on me. We went to ask the receptionist in the morning to move rooms and boy did I feel like an inconvenience to her! Didn’t really want to help us out. There were some nice points: they moved us to another room for our second night which was MUCH a nicer decor-wise, but the bed still not THAT comfy (photo attached). The en-suite in our second room was much nicer and a better flow of water for sure. Additionally, though there’s a cost, the leisure facilities are really nice. Inconsistency from room to room. Good luck with your room! It’s a lottery!

Very tired rooms - disappointing

Breakfast was disappointing, cold plates and tepid food. The standard room was not a bit like the photos, and the bed didn't even have a headboard. The room was very hot and we had to keep the fan running all night.

Room windows do not open and as a result oppressively hot leading to a poor nights sleep. Fan in room not effective
