Novotel Ha Long Bay,

Great hotel. Although the view is not that great because they are building a lot in front of the hotel!

I really appreciated the hospitality that the hotel staff exhibited during my stay at Halong Bay! I also very much enjoyed the spa facilities offered at the hotel!

Check in was a bit fraught as they wanted 3 million deposit which would be retuned in 2 weeks, when I said no , they then wanted cash !! The hotel itself was fine, breakfast , there was a very good variety to choose from and the staff excellent. The only downside was I got electrocuted one afternoon by holding the handle of the kettle, got such a big shock from it. Rang down to reception and they came straightaway. They tested the kettle which was live. They apologised and brought us a plate of fruit! Good job I wasn't wet or had a pacemaker in or I perhaps wouldn't be here.management should be informed of this and everything checked.

Good experience. Room was clean and quiet. Just the TV that was not working correctly. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is excellent

We spent two nights here while we did a day trip to Halong Bay. The room is comfy and clean with a distant but nice view of the bay. The pool area is good, shame there is the construction work across the road from them. My only issue would be the food available at the hotel. The breakfast buffet is okay, more eastern options than western but still nice. The dinner buffet is overpriced and not worth the money at all. The a la carte menu is good but you will be paying western prices. I would recommend going into town for meals. Also the dining area is understaffed, so you wait some time to be attended to. Cannot fault the staff that were serving run off their feet.

Nice hotel and close to amusement park as well as nice view from the balcony on the 7th floor.

Beautiful hotel with modern and very clean rooms. Only real downside was the food poisoning 3 of our group got after eating at the hotel. We were very sick and the hotel refused to accept that it had anything to do with it. This was our only meal in Vietnam (outside of a pack of pringles and bottled water) so we’re confident it was the hotel food which made us sick (3 hours after our meal). A disappointing end to what would otherwise have been a lovely stay. One final thing - there really isn’t anything to do in halong bay if you’re not doing a cruise.

Hotel too expensive for food and drink, almost London prices and not enough variety in the local area to escape it either. Feel like we are 2 years too early, half the area is a building site. Hotel itself is clean and staff very friendly.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 2 kids. The hotel was really nice. Great pool and excellent breakfast. We booked a twin room as it looked like the beds were quite big on the photos but they weren’t much bigger than single beds. Which was ok for 3 nights but would probably stay somewhere with 2 queen beds if we were staying longer. There is a lot of building work in front of the hotel but it didn’t bother us. They do happy hour on drinks between 4-7pm, the mojitos were the best in Vietnam. Would stay here again
