Sorell Hotel Sonnental Dübendorf

A two night stay as I was working in the local area. The hotel is at a fairly busy road junction but I didn't hear any noise from the road to disturb me. There was noise from other guests, the walls seemed to be fairly thin unfortunately. The room was clean and comfortable, a good desk space allowed me to set up my laptop to do work, and the wifi connection was always very good. The restaurant on site has a good menu of meals (though mostly these were quite expensive - actually similar to prices in Zurich city center). The breakfast options were very good with hot bacon and scrambled eggs, cold meats, smoked salmon, cereals, bread, pastries and yogurts all laid out on the buffet. There were no hot drinks facilities in the bedroom - though there is a hot drinks machine in the reception area that I used a few times during my stay. I didn't make use of any of the spa facilities during my stay. Travel around Zurich was easy from this location - the airport is about 25 to 30 minutes away by tram (the Ringstrasse station is less than 5 minute walk from the hotel) and getting in to the centre of Zurich is easy with Stettbach train station about a 10 minute walk away (the train journey is about 20 minutes from there).

We checked in late. The staff was very nice. Our room was tastefully decorated, with special lights and a spa tub inside the room. Very comfortable duvets. Although we were too late for breakfast, we were served an excellent breakfast. A good choice of hotel near N1 and airport. Bus stop in front of the hotel. Definitely a place to recommend.

Great quiet room. Spa is fab and breakfast much improved on last year. Cooked breakfast needs improving little. Love how close the county side is and the walk to the zoo is challenging but fun. Bus / train/ tram links great too.

Hotel was perfectly adequate for an overnight business trip

About 20 min drive outside of Zurich, we had a car so no issue. Easy to get to with free parking and breakfast was good, WiFi ok.

Room is too hot, almost 90F, no AC.

Stayed overnight to meet friends locally. Hotel caters mainly for business and conferences but we have stayed here before and won't hesitate to do so again.

Arrived at 11:30pm to find the front desk closed with a stack of keys in envelopes. Eventually found our room (in a different building) but could not get online, which I really needed to do. No one to call for help. Our triple room only had 2 made beds. Again, no one to call, so I slept with a towel as my blanket. The next day the surly front desk agent handed me the necessary wifi code and told me I should have known the front desk would be closed and should have called earlier in the night for the wifi code. Really? By this time, it was too late to make the flight change I needed. This caused us to get stuck in Zurich for another day. Thankfully I found a room closer to the airport for half the price so I will never stay at the Sorell again or recommend to others. One bright spot: the breakfast workers were very nice and the breakfast was substantial.

I was working at Cisco in Wallissellen Richtistrasse and this hotel is an easy tram ride and 5 minutes walk from Richtistrasse. The rooms are good, clean and comfortable. Wifi is free and quick, plenty of hot water and a good sized proper shower cubicle so no clingy curtains or water splashing everywhere. The staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is good and the restaurant has an excellent seasonal menu of good food. The hotel has a spa and fitness center but I did not get a chance to try these

The hotel staff were excellent, the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately it was a very hot night and my room did not have air conditioning, so I had the windows open for the night which let in the traffic noise. Overall the hotel was good and I would go back.
