The Kenwood Inn

The location is absolutely ideal. It is in walking distance of everything downtown, but tucked away just enough that the noise level is peaceful. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, and the rooms are spacious with beautiful bathrooms (2 shower heads in our room!). There were no concerns with cleanliness, and the staff were amazingly attentive. We didn't take advantage of all the amenities due to the weather (pool, bikes, etc.), but they are well-stocked! My only concern came from my food allergies. I can't have gluten or dairy and indicated it appropriately ahead of time on my reservation. Upon arrival, I similarly confirmed with staff that I had these dietary restrictions and was told it would be handled accordingly as one key accommodation is the 3 course plated breakfast! I have stayed here before and had an absolutely spectacular experience during breakfast, despite my allergies, but this time was not the same. My dietary restrictions were not appropriately communicated to all staff. The first course came out and although someone else was provided an alternative (no dairy) I never received one. Additionally, despite having no food allergies, my partner did not receive the first course at all. No one came to communicate to us what was happening regarding our meal, while everyone else was served and cleaned up after. I assumed maybe they had run out of the first course entirely, but other guests arrived much later and were given the option to have it so I'm not sure why my partner didn't receive one. 45 minutes passed before we received any food. The second course was made gluten free for myself, which I appreciated (toast with egg, pork belly), but when the third course came out I was given whipped cream and strawberries-- despite me having said I could not have dairy-- while my partner had a pancake. I am not one who has issue stating when things are wrong with my food (although it makes me uncomfortable) but the staff were far and few in-between due to being a smaller business and they were servicing several tables at once (literally running around, working hard and quick!). I wasn't the only table attempting to get staff attention without avail. I totally understand the labor and love that goes into a business like this-- and again, my previous experience was of such high quality-- but it can feel very discouraging and burdensome to have dietary restrictions that are not able to be accommodated as you were made to believe. I know it is possible, as I've been to other B&B's that offered alternative snacks during social hour, baked gf/df cookies for my room, and have made gf/df waffles, pancakes, and coffee cake at breakfast. I am grateful they adapted the best they could, but definitely left feeling a bit upset. Just make sure to triple confirm any dietary restrictions you may have ahead of time and take into consideration that alternatives may not be of equal value (i.e. subbed chopped strawberries in place of a pancake).

Beautiful place! Great location! Would stay here again and highly recommend to anyone staying in St. Augustine! Already telling our family and friends about the Kenwood Inn!

Pat is absolutely amazing! She rolls her sleeves up and does whatever it takes to make people happy. Above and beyond. You leave feeling like family. Food is amazing, pool and bikes are a great addition and location is perfect. It’s not only quiet but close enough to all of the downtown historical areas. We are loyal to her and will only stay here because of everyone making us feel so comfortable and like we’re home.

We love staying at the Kenwood Inn starting with the warm inviting welcome when we arrive. Each day began with a fabulous three course breakfast; not too large, but just enough to keep us going for the day. In the afternoon, we enjoyed our wine in the back courtyard as we listened to the waterfall and watched the Koi swim by. Totally relaxing.

We came to St. Augustine to spend five nights celebrating my husband's birthday. I chose the Kenwood Inn based on reviews, and they were not wrong. It is a charming little gem, just steps away from the Nights of Lights festivities, St. George St, and many attractions. Perfect location. The Inn was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and more was coming that I'm sorry I missed. The three course breakfast was always delicious. I told my husband "Don't get used to this!" Much better than any other B&B we have stayed in. And the freshly baked cookies every afternoon! ❤️ The best part of the stay was the very charming Alison and Pat. They couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. They went way out of their way to make us feel welcomed and valued as guests . Thank you so much, Ladies. I would highly recommend a stay at the Kenwood Inn!

The whole experience was outstanding. The room was charming and had plenty of room for the whole family. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the hotel is very close to historic downtown St. Augustine so many points of interest are within easy walking distance. Best of all was the breakfast. The food was absolutely amazing! We loved the experience and will hopefully be back some time soon!

We stayed at The Kenwood Inn for our 50th Anniversary. We couldn’t have more pleased with our stay. Pat and staff were amazing. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. The 3 course breakfast yummy and filling. Helped us with plans for a carriage ride and trolley tickets. Would definitely stay again.
