Parador De Cangas De Onis

We had a wonderful stay in the Parador. The staff were excellent - they provided us with very good advice on local cycle rides and had a number of maps and trail guides to follow. The restaurant is also excellent - we chose from the set menus and found all of the food to be high quality in a lovely atmosphere. We would stay again without hesitation.

The hotel has a high standard of offerings. The facilities and amenities are sufficient for my stay. And it is a special experience to stay in a castle with history and you will have the chance to spend some time in the hotel walking around and enjoying the ambience. The location is around 10 mins drive away from the main town. You may not be able to drink a lot before heading back obviously. The only one thing I have to criticize is the front desk staff. Apparently it was a busy time during my stay there and the staff seems not to be very patient when I check in.

Brilliant location, great rooms in the new part. Comfortable beds. Very helpful receptionist full of recommendations, good English. The quadrangle attached to the cheese bar. The breakfast choices were amazing, perhaps over the top. Unfortunately the breakfast coffee was not good luckily they provided two nespresso type machines.

Very nice place to stay in the countrysite near picos de Europa and cangas de Onis town.

Great stay with historical information

Beautiful area/surroundings. Rooms are a bit outdated & lack warmth. Should not advertise playground as it is very old. Finally, no one really reached out to us to help w information about what/how to explore the area. This type of property needs a concierge—especially for foreigners who don’t speak the language.

What is a unique is that you are staying in a historical place; a renovated historic monastery. What was disappointing were the rooms: smaller than expected and beds/pillows were very uncomfortable.

Absolutely beautiful hotel in Cangas! The staff is very nice, very professional and accommodating. Only one sugestión: the breakfast needs improvement. The pastries were not as fresh as one would expect. I would also expect eggs to be part of the buffet

Property is nice - however the staff is extremely miserable particularly reception ( check in and check out ) and restaurant . Only super friendly was man at bar . They should teach their staff to smile !!!
