Hôtel Préalpina

I was here for business but treated myself to this hotel for longer stay. For a 4* hotel this is pretty poor show. On first arrivial thought nice entrance area but tiny reception. And no lounge? Went to my room. Tiny, dirty, still had items in bins from previous occupants. Bed very uncomfortable. Paper thin feather pillows. No water in the room as expected. (Kept asking but never arrived over my 4 day stay) No coffee either as out of stock. The floor was covered in fluff and dust. The bathroom door didn't shut. Nice shower however the soaps etc were not replaced once used. Tiny rough towels Paper thin walls which ment i could hear everything my neighbour were saying and more 😒 Sad wonky wooden balcony, but yes a stunning view. For a 4 star and at high price i expected air con not a plug in fan. And also expected breakfast inc not 18 francs per day on top, though good hotel is closed on sundays, i wasn't informed of this until sunday eve when i wanted to order food and was told to wait til the next day. 15 minute walk up hill from station. On a very noisy area. Could hear the road and trains all the time. The female reception staff very welcoming. Apologied for errors but nothing changed. No water. No room cleaned. No toiletries. Totally gutted. I would guess they, as the male receptionist did with me, just shrug and carry on. People will continue to book and get dirty rooms, lack of informations. The hotel need staff training and a total make over inside and out.

Please remove the dead bushes in the patio!!! Not only killed the view, we’re very ugly!! Staff great. Food surprisingly good.

The property is located on the hill of Lavuax vineyards and facing beautiful Lake Geneva. The view is breathtaking.

Huge spacious room with gorgeous view. Also, dining room view is fantastic. Good breakfast buffet. Dinner service was slow (more than 1 hour to get food after ordering).

Every thing was good, the veiw of the hotel is great but the receptionist was rude and not helpful at all. We ask for upgrading our room if possible he said you booked one of the worse room and stay there I cant help you, you should have done this before arriving to the hotel.

View is amazing, clean rooms, decent breakfast with very tasty croissants

If you rate this place based on views alone, it gets a 10 out of 5 stars. However it was not the most comfortable stay and felt more like a 3 star vs the listed 4 star hotel.the heater would not shut off, and had the room temperature over 85 F, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep and stay in the room. We killed various types of bugs daily during our 3 days stay, even with windows and doors closed there were numerous bugs. There are vineyards and other farm life nearby, so assuming that is why? The walls are very thin and you can hear everything happening in the rooms round you. The front desk reception is run like a country bnb, no one is there past 11pm during the week and 9pm on weekends, which is stranger still for a “4 star hotel.” The best part of the whole stay is the view, if you pay extra to book a room facing Lake Geneva, otherwise I would not stay there again.
