Hôtel Préalpina

We were very disappointed from the moment we entered the room: the hotel was chosen because of the beautiful view on the Geneva lake from the big window. We specifically booked “room with balcony, full lake view” that has higher charge than “Vineyard view” rooms. But we were given a room with predominantly vineyard view from the balcony window. Staff was very unhelpful, not interested to make guests comfortable. We were told that we have misinterpreted the description “room with balcony, full lake view” - the view is not from balcony window, but from a smaller side window. It was misleading. In addition, we were misled regarding the lunch/dinner place. We arrived on Sunday at 4pm with 2 children and have been told that most of the restaurants are closed (as expected), but Pizzeria du Nord is open full day and we can go there to feed the children straight away. The Pizzeria was indeed open, but its kitchen was closed till 6:30pm. Btw, the hotel restaurant is closed till beginning of the high season, mid May. In overall, if you are looking for a room with a beautiful lake view, you might be better by checking other hotels.

The staff was amazing, the rooms were large, location was an hour from Geneva and Bern, and the views were beautiful.

Superb view, very nice staff, hotel felt a bit like a college dorm but still quite nice.

Lovely scenery and excellent restaurant. All other area facilities require driving. No hotel bar but can have drinks from the hotels fridge - notclearly explained. Room very hot and no through breeze - if had know about size and placement would have booked room with balcony.

Hotel was not bad but I wouldn’t stay here again
