Hotel Krebs

I recently stayed at Hotel Krebs in Interlaken and had a fantastic experience! The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. A special mention goes to the reception team– all of them were incredibly helpful, kind, and professional. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The location is also excellent, right in the heart of Interlaken with easy access to shops, restaurants, and public transportation. It's just 3 minutes walking from Interlaken West railway station! We tried the delicious Swiss cuisine served at the hotel restaurant. The fondue was rich and flavorful and the "hot stone" grill was delicious. A special thanks also goes to Peter (who was very nice and attentive) and, in general, to the entire service team. All of them were really helpful and made me feel truly cared for. **We got 10% off on the menu as we were Hotel guests. I highly recommend Hotel Krebs to anyone visiting Interlaken who’s looking for great food, a cozy atmosphere, and outstanding service.

This hotel was in a great location for convenience to the trains and walking around the city. The staff were nice, the room was nice, and my only negative is that is was hard to sleep at night as it was loud outside.

So happy with my stay here. It’s the perfect location in interlaken right in the center of all the shopping and restaurants. Very spacious room with a view of the city and a spacious clean bathroom. The breakfast buffet is decent.

**Extremely Disappointed – Absolutely Not Worth the Hype or Price** I had high expectations from this hotel, especially given its 150-year legacy. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but hospitable. It feels like the hotel is resting on its legacy and the heavy tourist footfall of the town, with no regard for genuine guest comfort or service. **Here’s what went wrong:** 1. **Room Experience:** Upon entering, the room had a strong, unpleasant odor. When I informed the reception, I was simply handed a room freshener and told to manage it myself — a shocking response from a so-called 4-star property. 2. **Breakfast Quality & Service:** Breakfast was a major letdown. Very few vegetarian options, which I still could’ve understood. But when I asked for a waffle or pancake, the staff rudely said it’s “not possible.” * The cut fruits looked stale and oxidized — visibly brown and unappetizing. * Only one type of bread was available: basic white loaf, no brown or whole wheat options. * I heard other guests complaining about the poor quality of eggs as well. * When I asked for a cappuccino in a takeaway cup, the server just said, “We don’t have any,” with no courtesy whatsoever. Frankly, this breakfast wouldn’t pass for a 2-star hotel, let alone a 4-star. 3. **Outright Rude Behaviour:** After a long, tiring day visiting Grindelwald, Jungfraujoch, and Lauterbrunnen, I returned to the hotel and sat outside on the porch (which had multiple empty tables) with a glass of water I brought from the reception. A staff member named **Gosia** walked up and curtly told me I couldn’t sit there without ordering. I explained I was a hotel guest just cooling off for a few minutes. Her response? “**No means no** — you can’t sit here. If you want, stand over there.” That tone and approach were completely uncalled for and outright disrespectful. --- **Bottom Line:** This hotel is living off its historic name and location, but offers none of the warmth, professionalism, or care expected from a hospitality business — especially one charging premium rates. **I would strongly discourage anyone from staying here.**

They charged me two rooms because of unknown reasons they received two bookings at the same time at the same day by same person .. i explained it must be mistakes , but they refused to listen !!

Great location. Great staff. A little old but clean.

We recently traveled to Switzerland and stayed at this hotel for four days. The overall service was excellent! The receptionist was very welcoming, and the hotel truly felt like home. Everything was well-organized, and our room was always cleaned while we were out for the day. I forgot the name of one of the receptionists, she was tall and slim but she was incredibly kind and helpful. Dimitri, another receptionist, was also very friendly and welcoming. A special shout-out to Peter, the bartender, his customer service was outstanding. Thank you all for making our stay so enjoyable! I recommend this hotel. My kids love this hotel and we would love to stay here again. Family of 5 from USA.

Hotel was walking distance from Interlaken West Train Station. Friendly greeting and super helpful staff. Breakfast included was an added bonus.
