Very clean, kind host but cold room

The decor was ok but run down. It clean and bed broken when I told the guy he said oh well. The shower well was not good no power and paying over £120 for just one night it was worth £20 tops poor I would like a refund or somet for stay not slept and bad back from it both myself and my wife

Dingy hole, dirty and run down managed by a highly unpleasant owner.

This is the filthiest hotel we have ever stayed in. Staff so rude that almost becoming aggressive, bathroom riddled with black mould, worst breakfast. We paid £165 for a bed & breakfast room. On arrival, we were told that breakfast is not included. I showed them the email from Expedia mentioning the breakfast included and I was told that it is my responsibility to figure it out with Expedia. After a lot of back and forth, the man agreed to add the breakfast as if he is doing a great favour to us. Then he told us that we need to check-in between 2 and 6. But we were planning to go for the City tour so asked him if we can do the paperwork now and so we can come later in the evening. Again all the excuses that the paperwork is not ready, the room is not ready etc. I asked him to see the room even if dirty and it turned out that it was all set. Then he agreed to do the paperwork, which was just a sign. The room was worst, the floor was so damp that we could not walk bare feet on it and the bathroom was filled with black mould. The breakfast was so bad that we could not finish it. No cereals, no juices, half-cooked eggs and tomatoes.

Shiwer is broken. No water coming in shower. Electric heating, no thermostat to controlling heat. Room is smell of cheap cleaning spray. Horrible experience. Not suitable to stay.

A beautiful old house but in need of updating. Mistakenly believed private bathroom to mean en-suite however this was separate and should be advertised as shared. The gardens were beautiful and we made the best of these but a shame such a spot had an unused pool! No food or bar was available but we stayed as hoteliers need as much support as possible to get back on their feet after Covid. The hotelier was pleasant to us but appeared sad and needs custom support. Good luck to them.

Good location. The power went off on some of the lights in my room and to the shower. There was no one to report this to so the problem was never rectified.

Four poster bed very uncomfortable, mattress bad and bed makes a noise every time you move it makes a noise

Very disappointed with the stay it was advertised with free bottled water a 32” tv and rainfall shower it has a 22” at most tv no water and shower was bog standard electric one. I reported this to hotel and was advised they didn’t offer these facilities and it was down to hotels.com who had made the mistake. They have now changed the description on website. The tv remote did not work they changed the batteries it still did not work and we were told it’s faulty and they had ordered a new one ( probably arrive next week but clearly after we had checked out) Free parking and location were fine and accommodation was comfortable I would not however have paid the price if o had know about tv (and remote) bottled water and rainfall shower not being present. There was also no glass to drink a glass of tap water from we had to rinse out coffee cups to drink, hardly ideal as without washing up liquid they always smell and taste of coffee, asked reception who advised me the owners don’t put glasses in room. I will be taking it up with hotels.com but they don’t seem too interested and ask me to take it up with hotel, however my contact was with them and not the hotel.
