Il Barlanzone

Simone the owner is a great host. Prior to our arrival to Montalcino we communicated via email and since it was low season we arranged to meet at his hotel by 5pm. He was there on time. Showed us the parking lot which is conveniently located (half a block from the property) and gave us really good suggestions on places to visit while in Montalcino. We had a problem with the heater one night but Simone immediately fixed it the next morning. The beds are comfortable. Clean and modern bathrooms. Nice view to the fortress and perfect location! We will definitely go back and stay at there!

Our window looked out on to the Fortessa. Great view! The hotel location is convenient to everything in town. Loved Montalcino!. The room was nice with a very nice bathroom. All of the hotels that we booked in Italy said that there were double beds, but the beds were bigger. At least a queen size. None of the beds in Italy were very comfortable, but we got used to that after a few days. The staff was friendly and helpful.

My room had a nice view over the nearby fortress. Montalcino is small so everything was within walking distance. The owner was very nice but wasn't always there, so couldn't answer some questions I had.

What more do you need for a beautiful stay in Tuscany? My new wife and I stayed here for two nights as part of our honeymoon. This is a small 4 bedroom hotel right over a wine shop and facing the famous castle. The room was clean and decent sized, but the location and service are the real selling features. Would definitely stay here again if back in Montalcino.

This hotel was nice, immaculately clean and comfortable. This is one of the few hotels which did not offer a breakfast included. For the price we feel it should have been. Also, when we went to check out next mornng, the office was not as yet opened (9:00 p.m.). The staff seemed quite friendly though.

Simone was a pleasant host and the hotel was in a great location at the entrance to Montalcino. We highly recommend to anyone who does not care about luxury and just wants a clean comfortable place to stay.

I spent a week in the apartment of the Il Barlanzone. It is is quiet , intimate little hotel with 4 rooms and one apartment. The location is right next to the medieval fortress and from the balcony of apartment you have stunning views from 3 sides. It was fabulous for people watching, dawns and sunsets. The place itself was spotless, has a good little kitchen, wi-fi at minimal cost and free parking. There is a supermarket a very short walk away and a few restaurants and cafés where you can savour the Sienese specialities. The owner, Simone, is very welcoming,friendly and accommodating and runs a specialty wine shop downstairs. I loved my time there and it was the best base around to explore the area. I would definitely stay there again.

The Il Barlanzone is a very nice property in a great location across from the Fortezza di Montalcino.
