The Hive Hotel Samui

Its pretty central to the nightlife, which makes it fairly noisy, though convenient. I never had any hot water at the shower throughout my stay, fortunately it is pretty warm weather-wise, so it wasnt too unpleasant to have a cool/cold shower and then warm up in the ambient heat.

Fantastic place in a great location, amazing breakfast and outstanding beach!

Positives: Great stay in a villa. Very close to the pool & view of Gulf of Thailand. Breakfast was very good, service was excellent. Location is great away from the party strip. Negatives: should be no shirt, no shoes, no service in restaurant; no dogs in restaurant; 1 out of 2 coffee machines worked; after 30 mins belongings should be removed from pool loungers as people reserve then leave; as smoking of all types is permitted there should be a designated smoking area.

The location is great, on the beach with a nice pool. Great breakfast choices. The room needs some up date.

Well located hotel on the beach within easy walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. Staff are all wonderful - so pleasant and helpful. Rooms are fine with a decent sized en suite bathroom. Breakfast range is excellent and constantly replenished whether you go at 8am or 11am.

The Hive Hotel was a delightful little ‘find’ after trawling the internet for quiet, friendly hotels in Lamai Beach. A stones throw from the main resort and restaurants means you can walk to any one of dozens of restaurants in the evening or visit the night market and do a little shopping but when you get back to the hotel the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful gardens restore your sanity! We stayed in one of the garden villas - I can heartily recommend! We were yards from the beach and pool (and bar!) The whole hotel was very efficiently run, super cleaning staff, very busy groundsmen and helpful, friendly restaurant staff. We had previously stayed in 4*, spa style , large chain resorts but in all honesty there was little difference in the service we received! OK, no spa products in the bathroom or towels folded into swans but very lovely all the same.

This is a wonderful hotel, very comfortable with a rustic style. All the rooms have a little outdoor area to sit and listen to the birds. The room is spacious and immaculate. The bedding and the pillows is five star quality. The most important part is the pool and beach area, which is so beautiful and well-maintained. You can sit outside all day and watch the sea from comfortable lounge chairs. The breakfast and restaurant has excellent food, a lot of breakfast options. This place would be nothing without the stellar management team. Everyone is so kind, They can arrange all kinds of transportation for you with a big smile and they even have same-day laundry service when I come back. I’m definitely staying here. This is the only place to stay.

What a great stay at The Hive. This is a wonderful boutique style hotel near the water with easy access to town. Rooms are bungalow style with AC. Super clean with great staff all around. Lots of chairs around to pool so no need to get up at 6 to throw a towel on a chair. Breakfast is great and lots of coffee options. Ive already recommended to friends and family who are now booked for March.

The photos looked a lot better than the current conditions of the property. There were LOTS of mosquitoes. This could perhaps be an acceptable three-star property but we didn’t play attention to the star rating when booking it (our fault). The staff was genuinely kind and professional. We left after one night. We didn’t get a partial refund, but thank goodness we moved. I can’t imagine staying five more nights. Again, it could be an acceptable three-star hotel, but it wasn’t for us.
