Comfort Inn Santa Rosa on Route 66

Staff and location were great. The bed was comfortable. The pet fee was $25 per night per pet. This puts it on par with La Quinta which is a much nicer property.

No elevator. The outside security doors to the second floor were broken. The stairwell entry area was dark with several cubby holes an intruder could hide in. If you are traveling alone, I would not stay here. The bedspread had very obvious stains and wet marks on it. The floors at first looked clean, but were very sticky. The exterior of the property looks great, so does the lobby, but after that point it does not compare to the nicer hotels in the area.

The beds were comfortable.

The pool was filthy.

I liked the easy access from I-40. The breakfast offered a variety of choices

You could feel the inner bed springs. It wasn't comfortable. The hot tub was cold water so we ended up not using which was a bummer because it's why we chose the hotel.

This hotel has a practice of charging you a10% insurance fee, otherwise the reservation is not cancelable. I booked two rooms two days in advance and declined the ‘insurance’ but had a medical event so we cancelled the morning of. And of course they charged us. This a despicable business practice that should be punished. If we hadn’t cancelled they had every right to charge us but we did cancel that morning. Don’t use hotels that boost their revenue with this insurance scam.
