Hotel Star Montreal

Clean hotel, tastefully decorated and excellent location if you want to be in the middle of things. A basic breakfast is available and staff very friendly. Great place to stay if your planning on spending alot of time exploring the city and not spending too much time in your room. It wasnt too far of a walk to old Montreal and the waterfront.

We love the Latin Quarter and it's diversity, but this is not a hotel it is a flop house. The rooms have very old furniture. There is no AC. There was a broken space heater provided. Absolutely NO amenities provided. The sheets, blankets and curtains were thread bare with holes in them. The carpet was worn and dirty looking. There was a bucket outside of our room with a ceiling tile removed with water dripping constantly from the ceiling. Truly gross. This place should be shut down. The room itself was the size of a large closet. We will NEVER stay here again.

The room was fairly clean, there were some stains on the carpet, but not a big deal. Bathroom was really clean (no shampoo or conditioner) and we had to ask for the blow dryer. The service was good. We go there around 2:30PM and our room was not ready, but we were able to leave our luggage. The person and the front desk was very helpful and nice. There is a lock on the front door and they provide you with the code to get in, so no issues with nobody being at the front desk. The breakfast was small, but better than nothing. The hotel location is good. It takes about 30 min walk to Old Montreal, but about 2 min away there is a subway station, so that was very convenient. The only downside was the neighborhood. Across the street there was some sort of club, so it was very noisy. People were leaving the place drunk yelling, so if you are hoping for a good night sleep I would consider that. Overall okay place to stay (not for families).

Minimal services provided. Very small room and uncomfortable bed. Will not go back this hotel. Neighborhood is ok. Major advantage is close to a Matro station. Walking distance to old Montreal

odd little place if you are used to the big boys but clean, friendly and great location. close to metro, food, shopping, nightlife. really small and if you have big luggage forget it. no frills. I would return.

The hotel look nice but the goods are end there,There are no shampoo or body washes, check in is at 4:30 and no one will open the door for you or answer the phone earlier, also the Internet was not working

I actually enjoyed my stay at Hotel Stay. Although they refer to themselves as a hotel, that might explain some negative reviews. It really is a B&B and once you see it as such, the expectations are different. There are still problems. The internet did not work in my room and it was never properly resolved. It is very dated, but comes with a fridge in the room, which is great. Even if you miss breakfast, the kitchen and all its amenities are open 24 hours. I would not hesitate to stay here again, especially for the price.

Very nice staff. The floor had something sticky on it so I wore sandles in doors. Everything else appeared very clean. Everything function as desired with plenty hot water. But bed is memory foam with a very long memory. Excellent price, but the bed should not be slept in more than one night.

The place is really cheap but it is not worth it in my opinion. Here are the reasons: -there is an AC for one floor which can only be modified by staff. If you are European and do not wish to sleep with a temperature of 19 degrees, look for a different place. -opposite to a bar with quite some noise during the evening/night -no elevators, steep stair -in general an old place, I cleaned the bathroom floor with a towel before I went in there -breakfast room has 4 chairs so you better eat in your room (on the bed as my room did not even had a chair)

This hotel was very near to the UQAM metro station and close to all festival areas. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The bed wasn't great but good enough. They offered a small breakfast but I never tried it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again and recommend it to friends.
