- torn shower curtain -one window could not be closed -no telephone in room - leaky shower faucet bed sheets did not appear to have been changed; with hairs found on them -paper thin curtains - a quarter of a toilet roll and no extra - no maid service

VEry humble hotel, not so clean, but functional.

Do not stay here. It is not a hotel but a flop house in a bad neighbourhood. The lobby and stairs are filthy. There is a two flight narrow stair to the rooms. The room was dirty with exposed wiring around outlets and for a non-existent smoke alarm. The baseboards were grimy and the walls mouldy. There was an inadequate collection of mismatched furniture, bedding, and towels. Not even a cup for water in the bathroom. Small closet with one hanger. No chair or desk. No deadbolt and an insubstantial chain lock. No in-room phone. I don't know how this place managed to post on reputable sites. They have to have fed in false reviews. Even people staying there told me I should try to find another place and that that area was not good

We picked Star because of its price and location. You definitely get what you pay for here. Lobby and stairs very dirty, smelled like smoke. Room was ok, nothing fancy. Bed was clean, bathroom had hair on the floor and empty shampoo bottles in the shower. If you have low standards and are not looking for anything fancy then I would recommend this place. Just go into it with the mindset of staying at a hostel or motel, not a hotel. Staff were friendly.

The man at the front desk greeted my friend and I in his barefeet and then demanded I pay for the stay before checking us in even though I had prepaid online through hotels.com. When I attempted to explain to him I already paid he proceeded to swear and yell at me. I had to wake up early in the a.m. in order to settle it. The room was dirty, sheets never washed and full of hair and stains. The bathroom was disgusting. Witnessed a drug deal and a fist fight in the street in front of the hotel. Photos are deceiving. DO NOT STAY HERE!

The hotel room was not very clean. Candy from previous guests on floor. Bathroom had spiders coming down from ceiling. Hotel codes changed without being notified. Aldo payed extra for city view was on 3rd floor no elevator and view was of old building across st. Lastly room never cleaned during stay

Not a high class place but worked great for us.close to subway and restaurants. No room service or house keeping which was fine for us. Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean. hallways are old.

The staff were friendly and reasonably accommodating. That is all the good I have to say. The common space is tired, dirty and run down. The neighbourhood is pretty sketchy. Noisy at night, with shouting and cursing well into the wee hours. Few amenities. They did not even supply drinking cups in the room. No effective air conditioning, poor shower.

The people is very rude, the place is not clean the day manager came to the door with a towel on .
