Hyatt Place UC Davis

Staff was friendly but they were constantly running around trying to make things right. Breakfasts were real disappointing. Had to constantly ask for simple basic Breakfast items like butter, bread, milk and... trash bins were filled with garbage. Tables were dirty and nobody seemed care to clean the common breakast serving tables. Eggs, sausages, friuts you name it was on the floor ... looked like a messy dog had feasted there and left. Disappointing experience.

Your average hyatt place. Check-in was smooth, upgraded to a high floor double queen room (as an Explorist), but then they hit you with a $17 per day parking fee. It's the same fee for UC Davis parking, but still there's ample parking. Room was ok except the bathroom floor tiles were loose. Several shifted when stepped on. The calk around the bathtub was brown and needs to be replaced as well. Room was clean. Breakfast as other reviewers have said was bland and no variety. Pretty much the same thing everyday. They ran out of potatoes 15 min before breakfast ended and wouldnt refill. Pretty sad when the school dining hall has better food than the hotel.

Clean, comfortable , quiet. . Easy Walk to downtown through botanical gardens.

The thresh hold of the shower was kind of high and it was sharp metal edged. I cut my toe on it first time I entered the shower.

I’ve stayed 75+ nights at Hyatt this year as a Globalist, and this was honestly one of the worst experiences. When I arrived, the front desk told me early check-in would cost $75, and the way they said it was very rude—specifically pointing out that even Globalists have to pay. I don’t mind if a hotel has its own policy, but the attitude was unacceptable. The room wasn’t much better. I waited until 3pm to check in and still found dirty glasses and a floor that hadn’t been properly cleaned. The building is old and noisy—every time someone upstairs moved, the floor squeaked and it was hard to sleep. I asked for a toothbrush and was told they had none, with zero effort to help. Breakfast was a mess. Food ran out (bagels, bread, etc.) and was never restocked, there weren’t even napkins, and dirty tables piled up with no one cleaning them. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is the location—it’s convenient for UC Davis and close to Sacramento. But management here is by far the worst I’ve seen at a Hyatt Place.

The property was quiet and had a safe feeling about it, and was in a convenient location for what we needed to get done at UC Davis.

Hotel stated that didn’t receive communication from booking.com, didn’t accept our reservation even we paid through booking.com. Still waiting for refund ( no answer even more than a week) don’t hear anything from either of them .
