Candlewood Suites New Iberia by IHG

The absolute dirtiest hotel I’ve ever seen. We walked in and immediately left and went to another hotel. Room was NOT clean. It appeared they just made the bed after the previous guests left. Dirty floors. Walls, door handles and light switch plates were dirty and sticky to the touch. Food splatter on the walls. Mold growing on side of fridge. Food crumbs on counter and floors. And a used QTip on the floor by the bed! Check out the pictures.

I didnt like the fact that the room pictured is not what i received. There was food left in the refrigerator. The kitchenette sink was leaking in a trashcan placed under the sink. The shower still had a previous guest bodywash sticker stuck to the shower wall. Room smelled like wet carpet and mildew.

Staff very friendly

NO HOT WATER in the shower. Not even warm. Just a bit warmer than the cold water. Makes for a very unpleasant stay. Ridiculously absurd that they turn down the hot water to save money and make your trip miserable.

Room 108 had a restricter on the hot water in The shower. The water was room temperature. Room 109 had no soap in dispenser in shower I understand the need to reduce costs to heat water, but losing my 2 rooms once a month because of your penny wise and pound foolishness is the result. All of your savings from no hot water lost on just one of many customers who won’t come back.

Hotel could use a deep cleaning once you get past the lobby and into the elevator/ hallways. There is a pungent odor of mold and trash once you get to the hallways. Some finishing touches need to be revisited . Our door closed and opened but it was a little loose. Also, the handicap parking spots are taken up by local contractors who are staying at the hotel who dont have handicap decals. I travel woth a disabled person so this was very annoying. Room was a little moist. Otherwise, staff was friendly

When we first got there I realized that I had not asked for a lower floor room, I did have a pet and extra luggage so I asked the desk clerk for a lower room. Not only was she rude but she said the entire lower floor was full but there were barely any cars in the parking lot and refused to even look for a different room for us. The room at first glance seemed okay but the bathroom tub was corroded and nasty, the room had spots on the wall and cracks in the ceiling. The carpets were sticky and the ice maker broken. The bed was the worst I have slept in for years. I have been a director of engineering for Marriott and Hilton chains for years and have never has such a bad nights stay, ever!
