Hotel Boutique Bovedas de Santa Clara By Accor

The experience was very pleasant. The staff ; Adria, Alejandro, Sr. Blanco, Luis, Cristian were the best. Always came to our rescue went we needed Helping us with directions and everything else. We highly recommend this hotel. It’s extremely clean, beautiful and we were lucky to have ocean views from all windows. Looking at the sunset from the balcony was a delightful experience

The best feature is that it is an Annex of the Sofitel Santa Clara, which is fabulous as next door

This place is nice enough if you get the right room. Or if you just get the room you booked. We booked the large family suite with two beds a sofa bed and two bathrooms on the top floor with a view of the ocean. It says so on the confirmation. We Never saw it. When we checked in the were polite and welcoming and escorted us to the worst room on the basement level and said ‘enjoy your stay’. So obviously we walked right back to reception and after some time and a manager they said oh, we are over booked. Wait…now that I’ve said something you admit you knew you gave me not only the wrong room but made no mention of the shift until the bellman took us to our room. Furious. So they could only give us two different rooms for the first night then moved us to the ‘correct room the next day, after 3pm’. Ok we were tired from traveling and we had a morning planned so settled but was promised a credit for the inferior room and the clearly different price not to mention the hassle and con game we were subjected to. Ok. So next day. ‘The room is ready’ we get our keys and we go check it out. A better room. Great view. Two bathrooms. But still only one bed and a sofa bed. It’s not what we reserves or paid for ! They were just so inconsiderate

The location overlooking the historic Walls and the Caribbean Sea and the barrio San Diego area is beautiful. The staff was incredibly helpful and allowed early check-in… the customer service was above and beyond.. the restaurant was excellent in the room was huge with a large balcony..Cristian and Luis were very helpful at all times. I stayed at three other hotels in Cartagena in the last three months and this hotel was the best compared to the Hyatt Regency in Boca grande and the Bastion Luxury hotel in Candalaria area.

This hotel is very focused on their guest and everything that they need to make things perfect. I got to the hotel after being up for 48 hours at 10 o’clock and they let me check in by 11 AM..Cristian was so helpful and I was very grateful to him. It’s a wonderful area. This is the third place I’ve been in Cartagena and I love it. Customer service is incredible and room service is great and there’s a beautiful restaurant associated with it and it’s just a great area.. all the staff have incredible!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Good location close to the city walls, the beach, the bovedas, and a lovely square with nice restaurants.

The airco is extremely loud, making it hard to sleep. It is expensive for what it is, even considering the access to the Santa Clara

Summary: this property has clearly seen better days, but remains a comfortable stay in a great location from which to explore Cartagena I liked: Location - we enjoyed the location inside the historic walled city. The city walls are literally outside the front door of the hotel, making for easy exploration. Everything else we wanted to see was within walking distance, including multiple restaurants. Staff - the best thing about the property is its staff. Everyone we had contact with from the front desk to the security staff were friendly and helpful. The highlights being Juan and Luis who spoke a high standard of English and made an extra effort to look after us. Room for improvement: Room - it appeared there has been a lack of maintenance here as basic, easy to fix things were broken in the room. The door stop was broken, the toilet seat was cracked and broken, the bathroom door lock didn't work, we had no hot water in the shower or bathroom sink during our stay - but oddly the kitchen sink was fine. Noise - our 'deluxe room, view of Caribbean Sea' overlooked Carrera 2 and our sleep was disturbed each night. A garbage truck comes around 2am and also there is a lot of noise audible from other guests in the hallway. We were woken up by other guests coming back to their rooms in the early hours of the morning and screaming in the hallway. Conclusion: I have no plans to return to Cartagena, but if I did I wouldn't stay here. I felt this property was overpriced for the quality of room you receive. I can understand why Accor removed the Sofitel branding from this property, as it's barely Mecure standard in its current state.

This property is beautiful. Extremely clean!!!! I loved my stay here. It is very walkable, but not so close to the action that you are annoyed by noise. The breakfast is amazing. I am EXTREMELY picky, and I loved this place. My only dislike is that in the loft, upstairs is hot at night.
