Cairn Hotel Newcastle Jesmond

Cosy little place. We stayed at their satellite location at the Carlton ,( 1 min walk away), and it served our purpose.

We have stayed here several times staff friendly and convienient location.

My husband and I stayed here from Friday, the 16th of May until Monday, the 19th of May. We were over visiting our son who is at university and living in Jesmond. We were able to check in early thankfully as we had had a very early flight from Belfast. The lady at reception ( did not catch her name ) was very friendly welcoming , she checked us in and checked us out. The hotel itself was a perfect location right around the corner from where my son was staying and right where all the local amenities are, everything is basically on your doorstep. The beds were extremely comfortable we slept very well. Room was perfect size we had a fridge and weren’t bothered by any noise at night. All in all a very comfortable stay at a reasonable place would definitely go back.

We were moved from our booked room claiming our new rooms were of equal value, noisy right above the bar tiny rooms.

The hotel is pleasant enough, but note that some rooms face the street, and it can be pretty loud with street noise and people drinking below.

Friendly check in, clean bedding and towels but dirty carpet, tea tray and bathroom

Great place

The room needs updating but for the price it has been sufficient for my needs visiting a friend in hospital. The bathroom needs a refurb desperately. All linen and towels are clean and the bed is comfortable.

Great location and great price, staff were very helpful. There was a slight smell of smoke in my room - there was still a plastic bag taped around the fire alarm which I only spotted when I was checking out.
