Cairn Hotel Newcastle Jesmond

Brilliant place to stay, very spacious rooms. Clean and friendly. However if you go as a family you will be in their sister hotel The Carlton which has no lift access. The bar downstairs is open till 11pm and it is loud especially on the first floor. However they do provide earplugs if requested. Everything else was lovely - breakfast was lovely. Water pressure was good - which is unusual! And the shower was lovely and big. We would stay again but with earplugs. Tea & coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. Iron and ironing board provided.

We had a very pleasant stay. The room was large and comfortable with everything we needed for a good stay. Parking was convenient and transport into the city centre was straight forward with a bus stop just across the road. Returning, the bus stop is right outside the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times now & we have never really had any issues however this time we had a call from the guy on reception at 3.40 in the morning to ask us if we had the tv on in our room which we did not as you can imagine we were both fast asleep & got a bit of a fright thinking that it was the fire alarm going off cause the phone in the room was so loud, obviously after been disturbed it was hard to then get back to sleep. When brought up the next morning the girl on reception did say they were sorry about it but that was the end of that which we were a little annoyed about as it wasn’t a cheap hotel & all you want is a good nights sleep so we have decided to try somewhere else in the future.

Great little hotel for the money . Room was fine with comfy bed and had our own little fridge which is rare these days. Breakfast was great , what a treat to get our own Cafetiere coffees with all you can eat breakfast . Would definitely stay again.

Very pleased with all aspects.

We were put in a hotel across the road from where we had booked. We requested a “quiet” room. The room was on the top floor overlooking the main road, so noisy & room was like a sauna. Asked to be moved following day, room slightly larger, cooler in temp but above a generator which was active & noisy 24/7. Decor was extremely tired, would be reluctant to either recommend or stay in future.
