Holiday Inn Express Benicia by IHG

The property was somewhat lacking in its identity…I think you need a larger sign whereby it can be seen soon as people exit the interstate. The other thing that should be attended to is: the water pressure & water temperature- luke warm water will run away your female guests.

This is an old hotel with a squeaky elevator, weird check in and out (a kiosk with a large screen where a person would appear and talk to you through a camera), but comfortable bed, clean room and a pretty standard free breakfast. The rooms are not very soundproofed and I did have noisy neighbors.

Check in and check out what's very difficult, Do do the fact. That I had a confirmation for a king room and they put me in a twin room at first, So it was a couple of trips up and down with luggage. I was told they were sold out of king rooms but they had a cancellation and found us one after thirty minutes. What's made us late for our dinner reservation....Also check out. Was a kiosk, I. Find this very impersonal, And was not able to receive a paper receipt for my records. Over all customer service was very poor.

My husband contacted staff and they have not returned his call regarding the mold in the room. This was a terrible stay and I will attach photos. It was definitely a health hazard but by the time we noticed everything it was too late to try and find a new room with a 4 year old and a 1 year old. We love Benicia and this was just extremely disappointing with no resolve or compensation for the disgusting conditions. The staff while getting breakfast were extremely pleasant though. I did appreciate that.

Nice hotel. Quiet. Great front desk staff. I don’t like the virtual desk staff. The reason I don’t like the virtual desk staff is because they are offshore. The accent is extremely difficult to understand. Had an issue with check in and I finally had to walk away. That’s not how you run a business. Finally a physical person came out and problem solved in two minutes because I was able to understand her.
