Wi fi was pathetic and the tv reception so poor that watching television was virtually impossible

"Not value for money"

8.0

Our short stay at the Red Lion in Adderbury was was okay. The food was good and the service was good. Unfortunately the room was VERY small and the steep tight stairs to access the bathroom were very difficult. The room and breakfast price of £130pn is too high, it should not be more than £100 for a mid week booking.

"Charming and comfortable."

10.0

Small, quirkey room due to the historic nature of the building, but clean and comfortable. The en-suite might be a problem for a large person, and the twisting stairs require a degree of mobility. Unable to comment on breakfast, as it was served too late each day to be any use to me (starts at 8am.) The evening meals in the pub were excellent, though. 17 miles to Silverstone race circuit, and most of the route was along quiet country roads.

"Lovely people"

We stayed one night and ate there. The food was not amazing, but OK - and tbh the breakfast scrambled eggs were poor: dried out and rubbery. But a lovely location and a good pub, with friendly, warm and helpful staff.

"Excellent lovely place!"

10.0

Excellent. Thats all I can say really. The management & staff went above & beyond to help. Nothing was too much. They were friendly & we felt like 'part of the family'. The room (room 8) is quite well known locally as with its neighbour (no7) for it's mezzanine bathroom. It is open with no door so maybe a little off-putting for some but we soon got used to it. The food was varied & available in either the restaurant or bar. The bar was excellent & held a huge amount of gins for the gin-lovers. It had a roaring fire which we added wood to with no complaints. We got on very well with some of the locals in the bar too, which was nice. The room, dining area & bar were spotlessly clean and were always being cleaned. The bathroom in our room was like an operating theatre. The shower was good with good pressure & nice & hot. If you need a recommendation for this hotel then this is it. We will definately be coming back. Thank you all.
