Hotel generally good, some rooms in need of a refresh. Restaurant service and food good Good breakfast choice

Room a little dated needs a refresh. Was quite warm up there too. Access not good, old building with uneven steep stairs, not at all good for gals in High Heels. Marie and Lisa were very helpful and kind and gave us a very warm welcome.

What a lovely little pub and hotel, however if you’re tall then you’ll struggle in the rooms. Due to being so old the rooms at the top have extremely low ceilings meaning we couldn’t stand up straight in the shower properly! Other than this we had a lovely stay and staff were excellent! Food in the pub also delicious!

A nice and comfortable stay

Had a lovely night very comfortable bed with clean bedding. Staff fantastic and made us very welcome. The halls stairs and room could do with a face lift, looking a bit tired. It is also a very old building so lots of squeaky floor boards. Had an evening meal and breakfast both absolutely lovely. Would recommend

Service was quie good although at breakfast the covid restrictions they had applied meant that staff were, unnecessarily, run off there feet.No sign of a manager. We felt guilty asking for more tea. The room (no7) was comfortable enough however the description said toiletries supplied but that was bare minimum multi purpose gel attached to the wall. . Most disappointing though was the black mould on the bath tiles and very tired and unpleasant shower curtain which needed replacing. We had hope to make this a regular stop on a journey we do monthly but we will continue to look.

Home from home say, staff looked after us. The attic room we a bit of a struggle avoiding low beams and the stairs were challenging for my husband, my fault for not highlighting his breathing disability.

Room could have done with a bit of refurbishment, but was very comfortable. But full marks to the staff who were so friendly and welcoming and really went out of their way to do everything they could to make us welcome/comfortable. Good Covid safety measures in place. Breakfast in particular was extremely good value. Would happily stay here again.

Great place to stay

We stayed here for our trip to Longleat and it was perfect for this purpose. Clean and comfortable room and very friendly helpful staff. Reasonably priced food with a good varied menu throughout the day and great breakfast menu. Building has lots of character and creeks. Would definitely stay here again
