White Hart Braintree by Greene King Inns

Staff, Wi-Fi communication,, I didn't even stay at hotel. I was supposed to stay 2 nights , the first night I didn't sleep. The second day I check out around 7 pm I want my money back.

I found the menu limited. And had to ask for fresh fruit three days running at breakfast and it was on the menu this was (help your self for continental). Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay and my room was comfortable.

The rooms were fairly basic but clean, comfy beds and everything you could need, hairdryer, iron and ironing board., tea & coffee making facilities and tv. Breakfast was really good and offered a lot of choice. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The only gripe, the water was scalding hot which meant that the cold water tap for cleaning your teeth was warm.

The property is fairly cheap but badly in need of refurbishment. Windows were broken and furniture in a poor state. I stayed there while attending a local wedding, so just used the room to get changed and then sleep in after a drunken wedding. Upon arrival, the cleaners had missed a dirty sick draped over the smoke detector. Good tea and coffee facilities.

Stayed at the hotel before and it was good, hotel now needs updating and if not a deep clean..

Having been disappointed elsewhere I didn't have expect great things but I was very pleased with the White Hart. The building itself ancient and very well-kept. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. My single room was perfectly comfortable and exquisitely clean. The price was reasonable and I would certainly go back there should I visit Braintree again. Thankyou White Hart.

Whitehart hotel is a pub and inn, which is a bit confused to me as I walked into the pub. However, the staffs are all very friendly and helpful: they quickly led me to the small reception table on the back side of the pub (which would be assessible first if you could manage to find their car park). In my case, I follow the postcode given by hotel.com (CM7 9AB) and really struggle to find how to get to the hotel (even though it is right in front of my eye as the lane is one car and no parking allowed). After giving the hotel a call, the receptionist was kind enough to direct me to their car park (but I still manage to go to the wrong one of the court nearby). IF ONLY there is a clear notice that if going by car, we should go to the car park in coggeshall road just opposite the oyster restaurant and right before the one way stop side. Besides that, everything is fine (no wow factor). The inn is a bit dated (squeaky floor, door making a loud bang whenever our next door go back and forth from their mid night drink, decent shower, a small fan was provided as it is super hot this weekend). The ambience at the pub looks warm, cosy and the food smells tasty at reasonable price (but we dont have chance to try as arriving a bit late after having dinner & need to check out early at 7am in the morning). All in all, everything is just basic, fine for one night sleep (some noises from other guests are unfortunately out of their control). The charm from the pub ambience saves the day

Old world charm but lack of elevators.

We felt the property was a bit tired, needing a refresh, the staff were very pleasant and very helpful, the food was adequate, not the best but reasonable value for money. We would return.
