Excellent room and value for money

A warm welcome (from Ross) when we arrived, and a snuggly, warm & spacious room. (We paid a little extra for a lovely expansive sea view). All staff were very helpful. We had evening meals both of our 2-night stay, and the menu was very good... a great lentil cottage pie the first night - so tasty & substantial that a meat-eater would have been very content, and a goats cheese & butternut squash tart the 2nd night. Again this was substantial & a real voyage of discovery of flavour-mixes, with a tasty salad. We hope to visit again. We understand that new management came in 2021, so ignore any negative reviews from before that time. The Commodore now seems to have a good vibe, motivated staff, and a loyal following. Definitely on the up & up!

Very limited parking and issues with the shower rooms can do with modernisation as very dated and old furniture but what do you expect for £50 a night

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, given how affordable our trip was. The room was spotlessly clean, and though it was a little bit tired in places, it was comfortable, and the bedding was a lovely quality. The staff were friendly and accommodating without ever being "in your face", and the view (which was a lovely surprise, as we hadn't booked it) was really special. We didn't have breakfast included in our package, but found it tasty and affordable. Parking was free, on the road, very close to the hotel.

Was able to park at the hotel but lots of parking nearby too. We had a warm welcome. The seaview room was perfect It was such a lovely evening we sat and watched the sun go down. It's a great position for walks and for us close to AECC university for our visit. We could have walked it was about 20 mins away but we took the car as we were heading home straight after. We are coming back in the spring as it looks a great spot for a relaxing holiday with lots of places to walk and close to Bournemouth too.

Where do i start. Booked in to find i still had to pay an extra £51.66, as i had already paid for the room in advance, I questioned it, with the receptionist to be told it was to do with hotels.com and not this hotel. There was not manager available at the time. In the evening i spoke to a helpful barmaid, who told me that i should not have paid the extra and to speak to the manager the next day. The next day i spoke to the assistant manager, who also told me that we should not have paid extra, but she would need to speak to the manager to correct it and refund me. She advised me she would contact me that day with an update. This was Saturday..it is now Monday & i still havent heard anything. I would advise booking this hotel. Hotel basic nd certainly needs updating.

A good value for money stay with friendly staff. The bar shut before 10.30 on one night when we wanted a drink and that was disappointing. Also, there is very little on-site parking because the former car park has been filled with outdoor seating. That would need addressing at busier times of the year. We would be happy to stay again. The location is good with great coastal views and very handy for walks, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
