Dornoch Castle Hotel

A nice convenient location. A comfortable stay. Staff were warm and welcoming.

A limited breakfast but adequate. Parking limited.

Dornoch is a lovely place to visit with a a large beach a short walk from the town with its selection of boutique shops. Dornoch Castle Hotel, sitting right in the heart of the town, is a beautiful old building. The inside is just as beautiful, with good sized, well appointed rooms. The only reason for not getting 5/5 was the very limited cooked breakfast selection - just fried eggs and bacon. But the extensive choice of continental offerings, was very good quality. The hotel has limited on-street parking to the front, with a small, private courtyard to the side offering a few additional parking spaces and an EV charger. The courtyard surface is quite deep gravel, so not really suitable for motorcycles. Best to park those on the street at the front.

It was very close to the golf course and right in the centre of town

I was put in room number 22 by the staff on arrival the room was so bad mattress was so old springs were getting you as you sleep the room I was meant to be in was room number 3 but they gave that to someone else in the group breakfast was a bit half hearted you get bacon or fried eggs that’s it I asked for scrambled eggs was told no fried only so over all for the money not worth it

Historical. The garden was lovely to sit in

Didn’t like the coffee making facilities with the coffee granules. Would have preferred an instant coffee with little pits of milk. Tray too up too much room with the coffee pot

Liked everything except the location of the reception which was tucked into a dark corner of the bar. Small car park but plenty of street parking available

Room was very big, Whisky Bar excellent and very authentic.

Fabulous room, super comfy - loved it!
