Dornoch Castle Hotel

Bardzo dobra lokalizacja i piękny budynek. Obsługa fantastyczna. Bardzo dobre jedzenie - zarówno kolacja jak i śniadanie. Pokoje z wszystkimi udogodnieniami. Polecam.

A really lovely stay in a hotel full of character and very hospitable and friendly staff.

We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of being in the bar in the castle, however were disappointed we couldn’t be staying in that side also. Room met our needs however we felt it was overpriced for what we had and no breakfast included (compared to other hotels in similar price bracket).

Thin walls - we could literally hear every word of the couples’ conversation next door! Poor sleep. Lack of parking spaces and staff not that helpful.

Electric car chargers in hotel car park x 2 blocked by non electric cars ; news of this in restaurant greeted with a shrug . Explained this meant we had to use a public car park charger a walk away. Explained therefore we needed a quick meal as need to unplug the car within an hour . This restaurant bills itself as serving the best of local produce ; it serves mainly pizza and burgers . We ordered 2 pizzas and 2 beers . Beers arrived after 15 mins and pizzas after 45 mins . We were offered take away boxes ; if we had wanted a take away meal we would not have booked a restaurant ! Really unimpressed: did not pay service charge

The atmosphere was wonderful and the location was amazing. The room was clean and quiet and fairly affordable.

Room was very disappointing, we were in room 22 which wasn't in the actual castle. The room had dirty taps, mould on the shower curtain, a random screw in the bathroom floor, rusty holders and liquid in the toilet brush holder. Mattresses were unconfortable, I could feel the coils. One member of staff was rude and unhelpful (other staff members were pleasant). I have decided NOT to share photos as the check out manageress assured us the problems would be addressed and we were adequately compensated.

Wonderful staff and whisky bar!!! Our room was ok but somewhat “tired”, needs refurbishing. Food was ok.

Room was exactly what I booked. Lovely, I've never seen such an array of lighting, there must be eight lights of various types! Good Wi-Fi and nice safe parking in the courtyard. Welcoming "dram" a thoughtful touch.

This was by far the most expensive accommodation on my NC500 trip from Cornwall. Ambience was somewhat lacking so I didn't try the restaurant. Carpet at the bottom of the built in wardrobe could do with sorting and the threshold to the bathroom being just 2 x 1 didn't match the wood on the rest of the otherwise superb bathroom.

Great location and a privilege to stay so comfortably in a heritage building.

The phone in our room, just crackled and didn’t work, and the view of a flat roof in the rain, did not inspire.
