It was fine for 1 night .. our twin room was in the stables and had very small size singles .. we’re quite small so we’re ok for us.. but not full width single beds. Bathroom washbasin was cracked in 2 places, very old furniture in general it’s desperately in need of refurbishment. Linens were clean & mattresses comfortable & all amenities in the room like tea coffee hairdryer etc were good. Quiet at night & close to the centre of town. Best thing about the hotel was the friendly helpful staff who are clearly an asset .. would be lovely if they spent some money bringing the rooms up to standard

"65th wedding anniversary"

10.0

We didn't stay, however had my parents 65th Wedding Anniversary. Caroline helped and support us all the way through, she was amazing. Thanks Caroline. Function room was the Ash down, I believe. Chairs really comfortable and looked brand new. From the beginning to the end Caroline and team were absolutely wonderful. Couldn't do enough for us, always checking in to make sure we were all okay, very respectful the whole team. Willing to talk and make conversation and also willing to stay in the background. As for the food, everyone said it was hot tasty and there was enough of it. To get out 40 dishes all still piping hot, if you know anything about catering, that isn't easily. Quality and presentation was great on every meal that went out. I will be back again for any celebration, perhaps I might decide to go bed and breakfast on top. Mum and dad had a fantastic day topped off by the piper, who played the songs at their wedding. There 70th anniversary we will be requiring a Karaoke machine, smoke and strobe lighting. Thanks again everyone for your help and support.

I stayed for one night, for convenience as the party I was going to was in the hotel. It all went very well, but it was so hot and there was no air conditioning other than a fan in the room. That is my only complaint though it was quiet, clean and breakfast was good and had great service

Very clean, badly in need of upgrading decor etc. For example, window frames rotting and paint flaking. Comfortable bed and decent breakfast.

"Disappointing."

4.0

Stayed here for one night ahead, whilst visiting family in Yeovil. This place is clearly understaffed and under resourced. Check in was a frustratingly slow affair. The check in desk is literally right next to the main entrance, and is a single desk and you’re right in the way of the main hallway when queuing. The poor guy in front of me was stood waiting for a long time to be welcomed, whilst continually pressing the call bell for attention. Finally, my turn arrived and check in was actually quite seamless, when a staff member did appear. My room, a “superior room” was in the main building, room 7. On first initial impressions, the room was quite nice. Large, with a large bathroom and wardrobe space. But sadly, on closer inspection, the room was in very poor order. The taps on the sink were largely none functional. The shower temperature couldn’t be increased, only decreased. There were toiletries (shower gel) provided, but every single one of the bottles were empty. The one hanging in the shower, the one left discarded next to the one hanging up, and the one on the sink. The room had early signs of black mould on the ceiling next to the window frame, where a damp issue or leak clearly hasn’t been addressed (pictured). The bed was comfortable however. It was good to see a nice selection of tea and coffee in the room, too. However, the basics of a good hotel room are immaculate cleaning, a high quality shower with toiletries and working facilities - which this room lacked. For a superior room, it was disappointing. Despite not having enough, the staff I encountered were friendly and polite, if looking a little overstretched. I had a few drinks at the bar, which were nice. Although being a Green King pub and asking for a Green King IPA and being told it was off was a little amusing. The Guinness I had instead was nice, though! Added a star for breakfast. It was superb. All freshly cooked to order and delivered to the table, along with a nice selection of fruit juice, continental options and coffee to self serve was nice and very good value for money. However, the accommodation here left a lot to be desired I’m afraid. I’d return for breakfast alone, but wouldn’t stay here overnight again based on the quality of the room and the price paid. It’s back to the Premier Inn for me, sadly. If I could offer some advice, get the basics right in the room. Make sure everything works and be proactive in fixing them. The issues I found are clearly issues that have been there for a while. I’d be amazed if they hadn’t been pointed out before by other guests. The room felt old, and not is a good historic way. It felt neglected.

Average sized room with very small en-suite, decor and furniture were dark combined with high ceiling with a single light near window wall and table lamps gave an overall gloomy room. Wardrobe door hinge screws were loose and almost out of the wood. Bed was very comfortable. Single sash window was tight which prevented it being opened for adequate ventilation. Evening meal taken in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was very good with sufficient choice and prompt service. Staff were helpful and any queries were dealt with. Overall our stay was good value for the amount charged.

"The Stables at The Manor Hotel Yeovil"

2.0

Simply awful. Were given a room in ‘ The Stables’ and that’s exactly what it was. Would have left if we hadn’t been too far from home. Staff were helpful, the rest simply awful. The furniture has seen better days, we could hear every movement from the upstairs rooms, the room was just not acceptable for a hotel.
