Historic building, well-maintained; right opposite the famous church; rooms not huge but very cosy; clean and well-equipped; lovely staff; excellent food; great value for money; car parking no problem.

Dining arrangements were more than met our requirements. All very satisfactory. The room was, if anything, was a little too warm at night which would be a main concern in the height of summer. As it was Spring time, the discomfort was minimal. The Hot water was, as its warning labels stated, Hot. Something to be wary of.

Have nothing to comment on here negatively. Car Parking, I thought would be an issue, but with a Free Car Park down the road and only a few minutes walk away provided, as mention in the pub, was a suitable alternative. Being under the flight path into Stansted Airport may be disconcerting for some, but for me, it was another attraction. Flights after 2300 hours were much reduced until about 0600 hours the following morining. Again, not for me, were they an inconvenience

The evening meal and breakfast were extremely good and the evening staff and morning staff were equally welcoming and competent. Our room was smallish but very attractive and well-designed so we had a comfortable stay. Thaxted is a super place to wander round.

Good breakfast, clean comfortable room. Good location in the town.

Rooms at the front can be noisy as traffic, especially lorries, continue throughout the night. We waited a long time for our meal in the restaurant in the evening.
